9. A.A Remove basting stitches. BB. With fine tip scissors, gently lift the top three layers of fabric and cut a straight line down the channels of stitching. CC. Tuft chenille with a nail file. 10. A.A Change thread to desired color. Stitch the eyes and mouth stitches. BB. Change thread to desired color. Stitch the nose fill stitches. 11 11. Remove project from hoop CC. Orange Pop Ruler Instructions: Place It A. A Visually center the embroidered design by nesting the rulers together on a cutting mat. Choose the desired block size. This is trimmed to 4½ x 6½. Wording Embroidery Instructions: 13. Cut stabilizer larger than 4 x 4 embroidery hoop Mark center of fabric, using a water soluble pen Cut It B B. Beginning at the edge closest to you, insert rotary cutter into the extended corner channel. Carefully cut against the edge of the ruler. (The blade should be against the inside of the ruler.) Carefully rotate the entire block and repeat to trim all four sides. 14. Hoop stabilizer and fabric, with the center mark in the center of the hoop Piece It C. C Remove embroidered block from the cutting mat. Your block is now ready to be sewn into your Kimberbell project. Pinwheel Blocks Sewing Instructions: 17. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of (2) Pinwheel A Fabrics wrong side of fabric wrong side of fabric 18. Use a rotary cutter and ruler to cut directly on the pencil line between the two stitched lines Repeat on second block You will have (4) half square triangles. 21. 29. Square up pillow top to measure 8 ½ x 8 ½ using Kimberbell s Orange Pop Rulers (See top of page 5 for instructions.) 30. Prepare both 6 ½ x 8 ½ backing pieces for an envelope-style closure. Turn fabric ¼ to the back on one long side, press Turn another ¼ and press again Pin hem and topstitch 31. Wrong sides of the pillow top and back will be sewn together like a quilt sandwich in this step. Place pillow top face down Place Backing Pieces right side up over pillow top, aligning edges and overlapping hemmed sides Sew around the perimeter of the pillow top with ¼ seam allowance Repeat instructions on second backing piece 32. Prepare both 2 ¼ strips for binding by sewing them together and pressing in half lengthwise with wrong sides together Sew binding to pillow front around edge, mitering corners, as you would attach a binding to a quilt 33.
