RENEW YOUR BLUE MAX & AMA MEMBERSHIPS!! AMA CHARTER 1040 GOLD LEADERSHIP CLUB THE PRESIDENT S TRACK by Steve Haas Well the shed is pretty much done on the outside. I want to thank Bob and Duane for all their hard work and many (6) weekends spent building it. Now that they are done with the outside we need to spread the rest of the mulch and move the tables back. When we get the stone we will need more help digging a trench on each side of it for drainage. The next step on the list for the shed is adding shelving to the inside We have to watch where we fly to the west end of the field and not fly over the pavilion and picnic area. It is very easy when landing from the west end with our big gassers. The orientation of the runway lines up to fly over it. If you see someone flying over it or that far out please help them by letting them know they are doing it. The Forest Preserve could give you a $125.00 ticket for doing it. The Fun Fly owill be on Sunday the 18th (Fathers Day). Steve Gelman will let us know what it will be the week before. If you have not paid you club dues please do so ASAP. The club picnic is set up for Sunday July 31st. The raffle prizes at the meeting will again be a gift certificate. ~ Steve President Steve Haas Vice President Howard Bifeld Editor Bob Breckler Board of Directors Bob Breckler Don Linder Jim Kaufman Carl Will Secretary Murry Randell Treasurer Jim Kaufman Webmaster Doug Bradbury COMMITTEES Winter Banquet OPEN Field Marshal Jim Kaufman Flying Proficiency Duane Lang Fun-Fly Steve Gelman Ground Crew OPEN Noise Shlomo Rimer Picnic Carl Will/ TBD Bob Breckler Programs OPEN Safety Don Linder/Rich Blaha

The spotter should also make sure that the pilots intents are called out to the flight line.

June 2017 Volume 24 Issue 6 Page 3 Old Business The shed project is almost finished also the safety fence on the left side still needs to be replaced from the winter accident, discussion around what we could use for the year instead of buying the fencing for right now New Business The Maiden Flight Check list will be updated to reflect a more current procedure The flagpole will be remounted on the new Forest Preserve District sign in the pits. Don Cameron donated his equipment when he passed away to the club, all proceeds from the sale of the equipment will go towards club functions, two planes have already be designated as trainer planes and have been put to use already Crash Reports Bob Warenski Avoid 25mph wind gusts. June 2017 Volume 24 Issue 6 Page 4 Show & Tell Mike Melendy brought by his newly finished Phoenix models WACO F5C It has an OS.95AX in it and weights in at a slim 11# s but hasn t been flown yet. It s a real beauty Mike, nice job

June 2017 Volume 24 Issue 6 Page 5 Raffle Winners : No raffle due to the plane auction Thanks to all who participated Meeting adjourned at 8:36 pm Well here it is, NEW and IMPROVED, Carl s B-25, it back up on the flight line after a few repairs on the wing. Carl and Howard headed out to St. Charles to put it back up into the air a few weeks ago, Carl said that it flew great and with a change in props took off and landed very scale like. And with all the repairs that were made, it didn t change the plane balance or flight characteristics at all. With a couple of clean flights under it s wings again we look forward to it s flying debut at the Fox Valley Warbirds Event. Great job Carl.
