Island Oasis Framed Art Designed By: Jane Nishiguchi June 2010 Wisk yourself away to an Island Oasis with this framed art featuring Stampin Up! s Island Oasis Designer Series Paper. Instructions Step 1 - Preparing the Mat Measure and mark 1 from all four sides of an 8 x 8 piece of Whisper White card stock. See photo Step 1a. Cut out center portion using a Paper Cutter to make mat. See photo Step 1b. Step 1a Step 1b
Step 2 Use Sticky Strip to attach 3/4 x 7 foam core strips to wrong side of mat. Line up with outer edges. Refer to photo Step 2a. Place in frame and set aside while working on artwork. Step 2a Step 3 The Artwork Start by preparing embellishments. Use Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Stampin Write markers to color the trunk and leaves of the palm tree from the Tropical Party stamp set. Stamp on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. Refer to photo Step 3a. Punch out with Curly Label punch. Refer to photo Step 3b. Punch out 3/4 circle from 2 x 2 Window Sheet Medium. Place over palm tree image and use sponge dauber with a So Saffron Classic Stampin Pad to add a sun to the image. Use a Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin Pad for highlight. Refer to photo Step 3c. Step 4 Use a Basic Brown Classic Stampin Pad to stamp coconut cocktail from the Tropical Party stamp set and {friend to friend} from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on scrap Whisper White card stock. Refer to photo Step 4a. Color coconut cocktail with So Saffron and Rose Red Stampin Write markers and cut out with Paper Snips. Refer to photo Step 4b. Use the Scallop Oval punch, and punch a scallop oval from a scrap piece of Rose Red card stock. Use the Modern Label punch to punch out {friend to friend} image and using SNAIL adhesive mount on the Rose Red scallop oval. Use a Paper-Piercer and Mat Pack to make holes and add More Mustard brads. Refer to photo Step 4c. Step 4a Step 4b Step 4c Step 5 Use an Old Olive Classic Stampin Pad to stamp the leaf image from the Tropical Party stamp set on scrap Whisper White card stock. Use a So Saffron Classic Stampin Pad to stamp the large flower image from the Tropical Party stamp set on So Saffron scrap card stock. Use a Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin Pad to stamp the small flower image from the Tropical Party stamp set on Pumpkin Pie scrap card stock. Refer to photo Step 5a. Cut out all images with Paper Snips. Use a Paper-Piercer and Mat Pack to make a hole and add a Rose Red brad. Refer to photo Step 5b. Step 5a Step 5b
Step 6 Stack 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 pieces of Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red card stock on the small flower on the Island Floral die and run through the Big Shot. See photo Step 6a. Sponge edges with matching ink color(s). Add medium Rhinestone brad. Use Bone Folder to curl petals slightly for added dimension. See photo Step 6b. Step 6a Step 6b Step 7 Use Stampin Dimensionals to attach a 6 x 6 Whisper White square to the 8 x 8 Whisper White square, centering as shown in photo Step 7a.Using SNAIL adhesive, adhere nine 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (DSP) squares to the 6 x 6 Whisper White card stock with about a 3/16 margin around each square. Step 8 Using Stampin Dimensionals, adhere embellishments to DSP squares. Refer to photo Step 8a for placement. Step 9 Place in frame as shown in photo Step 9a.
