The SDCS-COM-82 is used t cmmunicate with N-type fieldbus adapters. Fr this 5 MBd ptical cmpnents are used fr channel 0. Channel 0 is used fr cmmunicatin t ABB verriding cntrl systems, e.g. AC800. Channel 1 is used fr cmmunicatin t the I/O mdule extensin bard AIMA. Channel 2 is used fr the fiber ptic master-fllwer cmmunicatin with ne master and up t 10 fllwers. Channel 3 is used fr the fast cmmissining and maintenance tl DriveWindw. The red LED blinks during the bt prcedure. In case f cntinuus blinking the SDCS-.COM-8 is faulty. A cntinuusly green LED shws, that the 5 V pwer supply is kay. 8

They are available in different types and lengths. Figure 1 shws a plastic ptic fiber single cable. Figure 2 shws a plastic ptic fiber duble cable. Figure 3 shws a hard clad silica duble cable withut a plastic jacket. Figure 4 shws a hard clad silica duble cable with a plastic jacket. The length f the cables varies depending n the ptical cmpnent type and the transmissin speed. 9

DCSLink bard SDCS-DSL-4 Hardware cnnectin a February 2, 2010 Slide 12 Cnnectr X51 supplies 24 vlts DC fr field exciters f type FEX-425-Int DCF803-0016 and DCF803-0035. The supply is shrt circuit prtected and supplies a maximum current f 250 milliamps. Cnnectrs X52 and X53 prvide the DCSLink. Bth cnnectrs are cnnected in parallel, thus, it is pssible t cnnect tw cables t separate plugs. Cnnectr X54 is currently nt used. Jumper S1 sets the bus terminatin, as the bus terminatin is mandatry at the tw physical ends f the bus. Jumper S2 sets the grund terminatin. The grund can be terminated directly r via an R-C netwrk. 12

Mains vltages belw 100 vlts AC must be adapted by using smaller resistances and thus rescaling f the vltage measurement channels is necessary. Such rescaling prvides imprved mains synchrnizatin and DC measurement reslutin at small vltages. When using the SDCS-SUB-4 bard, vltage scaling in the sftware must be changed. The default setting is 1.17 Megahms fr 117 vlts. With this setting the wrking range is up t 200 vlts AC. Order the SDCS-SUB-4 bard by means f plus cde S186. 14

Remve the flat cable frm cnnectr X12 n the SDCS-PIN-4. Plug the SDCS-SUB-4 int cnnectr X12 n the SDCS-PIN-4 and cnnect the cables with cnnectrs X20, X21, X23, X24 and X25. Re-cnnect the flat cable t cnnectr X112 n the SDCS-SUB-4. 15

Depending n the site f resistrs R1 t R8 the digital inputs can take different vltages. Three different vltage levels are available: The SDCS-IOB-21 is suitable fr vltages up t 48 VDC. Cnnectrs X4 and X5 prvide the digital utputs DO1 t DO8. The relay cntacts are DO1 t DO5 as well as DO8. The cntact can take up t 250 VAC r up t 24 VDC with a maximum current f 3 amps. Digital utputs 6 and 7 are ptential islated by ptcuplers. The ptcuplers switching capacity is 50 ma with an external vltage f up t 24 VDC. If a digital utput is active, its LED lights up. Cnnectr X6 prvides the digital inputs. All digital inputs are filtered and galvanically islated by means f ptcuplers. Cnnectr X7 prvides cnnectin t the internal 48 VDC pwer supply with up t 50 ma f current. This pwer supply is nt galvanically islated frm the DCS electrnics and is nly available n the SDCS-IOB-21. 18

In principle there are three ways f cnnecting the SDCS-IOB-2 and the SDCS-IOB-3 bards with the SDCS-CON-4 bard. The cable length is a maximum f 1.7 m when using size D1 t D4 cnverters and unscreened cables. With screened cables, the maximum length is 4 meters. Nte that cable length between IOB-2 and IOB-3 is a maximum f 0.5 meters because f EMC reasns. The SDCS-IOB-2 and SDCS-IOB-3 bards are cnnected in a ring cnfiguratin with the SDCS-CON-4 bard. Nte that cnnectrs at the CON-4 cannt be used. The SDCS-IOB-2 bard as single device is nly directly cnnected with the SDCS-CON-4 bard. In this case cnnectrs X3, X4 and X5 can be used. The SDCS-IOB-3 bard as single device is nly directly cnnected with the SDCS-CON-4 bard in a ring cnfiguratin. In this case cnnectrs X6 and X7 can be used. 21
