Beginners to Intermediate class. Create a flower vase still life on an 8 x 10 canvas board using your old greeting cards, book pages or paper ephemera. You will learn layering, up-cycling materials, shading and highlighting to create depth, glazing techniques and embellishments. You will be able to complete a unique piece of art work that has meaning to you by incorporating your treasured cards or bookpages. Included: step-by-step classroom guided & written instructions, pattern, paints, gel medium, & inspiration. Supplies needed: 8 x 10 canvas board, 5-6 greeting cards or papers that you want to use, brushes 1 flat, ¾ angle, #2 liner, small sea sponge, good scissors, pencil, stylist or old ball point pen, water basin, paint pallet, paper towels. Notes about the cards/papers: you will be cutting these up and applying them to your art work. Choose items that have special meanings to you as this helps to incorporate warmth and significance to your piece. I have some papers & tools to share, but not enough for everyone. Fun with Yupo Paper ~ Ink and Mediums, A Beginners Class! Monday January 26 2015 7:00 9:00 pm Saturday February 7, 2015 10:00 am 12:00 pm Abstract color play. For beginners to artists. You will learn to splash inks onto Yupo, manipulate them with different mediums and leave with a beautiful abstract painting that will be like none other. Included: an 18 x 22 sheet of Yupo paper, inks, altering mediums and guided classroom instructions. Some mark making tools to use in class. Supplies needed: This can be a messy class, so paint clothes and rubber gloves are highly suggested! A large box top or old cookie tray big enough to hold your painting, to carry your wet piece home in, any pattern making tools that you will not use again for cooking, such as BBQ stick, combs, plastic fork, feathers, onion bag, straw... Pen & Ink. Beginners - advanced artists. Anyone wanting to add a relaxing method of creativity to their lifestyle are encouraged to join this class. No drawing experience is required. We will begin with a few basic guidelines and drawing techniques to get you juices flowing and hooked. We will complete one finished piece that you will be proud of. I will be using the Decoart Social Artworking program to introduce you to the process of completing a painting, brush techniques and special effects to create a complete painting by the end of each class. A sip, snack, relax and have fun atmosphere. Classes will be changed often to bring variety and interest. Beginner's level classes will be simpler designs, more advanced classes will be longer in length. All supplies will be included in class fee. Custom workshops or private classes for small groups can be arranged. Please contact me for more information. You should know these basic crochet stitches ~ chain, single crochet, binding off and slip stitch without guidance. Intermediate - Advanced crocheters. We will create a one color coaster, learn the Tunisian crochet stitch and 4 edging techniques so that you will be able to finish a set of four coasters on your own at home. 3 Color Tunisian Crochet Scarf - Intermediate Class Friday, February 27, 2015 6:30-9:00 pm Tunisian Crochet with 3 different colors of yarn is my favorite way of working this technique. It takes a bit of practice but it too is very easy to learn. It creates a wonderful fabric with texture and design interest. Advanced, Prerequisite ~ Beginner's Tunisian Crochet Coaster class. Using 3 skeins of yarn, your Tunisian Crochet hook and my guidance, you will begin working on a unique and beautiful scarf. Three colors create a beautiful play of patterns and texture and makes a thick and lovely fabric unlike any other form of needle arts.
