Fabulous Florets Trifold Card Holder Designed By: Wendy Weixler June 2011 This is a project that is a kind of pay-it-forward gift a trifold full of cards that the recipient could then give to someone else! What could be more fun than that? The best part is that it is easy AND fun! Instructions Step 1 Cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock to 9-5/8 x 5-½. Score along the 9-5/8 side at 3, 3-3/8, 6-¾, and 7. Score along the 5-½ side 1-½ from the bottom edge, as shown.
Step 1 Step 2 Cut out notches between the flaps (that will form the pockets) at the bottom of the trifold, as shown. Fold up bottom flaps and adhere using Sticky Strip along the side edges to form pockets. Step 2 Step 3 Cut piece of First Edition Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 6 x 3. Lightly draw pencil lines at 2 and 4 along the 6 side, as shown. Step 3
Step 4 Stamp stem images from Fabulous Florets stamp set on First Edition DSP using Lucky Limeade ink. Stamp flower images on scraps of Whisper White card stock with Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride ink and cut out. Place stamped images on First Edition DSP using Stampin Dimensionals. Cut DSP apart along pencil lines. Step 4a Step 4b Step 5 Cut card stock to the following dimensions to create mini cards: (3) 2-½ x 7 Crumb Cake card stock (3) 2-3/8 x 3-3/8 Blushing Bride card stock (3) 2-¼ x 3-¼ Rich Razzleberry card stock (1) 3-¼ x 2 Lucky Limeade card stock (split horizontally down the middle to create trim for the cards on the left and right) (1) 2-¼ x 2 Lucky Limeade card stock (split horizontally down the middle to create trim for the card in the middle) (3) 1-¼ x 2-¾ First Edition DSP Scraps of Whisper White card stock Fold Crumb Cake card stock at 3-½ along the 7 side to create card bases. Then layer first with Blushing Bride card stock, Rich Razzleberry card stock, and finally with the First Edition DSP on top. (Stamp the leafy stem image from Fabulous Florets stamp set in Lucky Limeade ink on DSP before adhering to card fronts.) Stamp flower image in Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out and add to First Edition DSP with Stampin Dimensionals, as shown. Add Whisper White 3/8 ribbon, Basic Pearl Jewels, and sentiment from Fabulous Phrases stamp set stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink as shown. Adhere flowers and sentiments using Stampin Dimensions. Adhere lacy border trim using a 2-Way Glue Pen.
Step 5 Step 6 Using SNAIL adhesive, add First Edition DSP and lacy border trim to inside pockets of trifold, as shown. Step 6
Step 7 Using a 2-½ x 3-½ piece of First Edition DSP, and a 2-¼ x 3-¼ piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock, create the decorative panel for the trifold front. Stamp leaf image from the Fabulous Florets stamp set using Lucky Limeade ink on First Edition DSP. Stamp two flower images using Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride ink on scraps of Whisper White card stock. Cut out flowers and adhere to front using Stampin Dimensionals, as pictured. Add Basic Pearls to flower centers. The third flower is adhered to the belly band and will be explained in Step 8 below. Step 7 Step 8 Create a belly band by cutting a 7-¼ x 1-¼ piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Score along the 7-¼ side at 1-3/4, 2-1/8, 5-1/8, and 5-½, as shown. Overlap belly band and adhere with Sticky Strip. Step 8
Step 9 Embellish with Lucky Limeade lacy border trim and ribbon. Slide belly band around completed trifold (insert cards in pockets before adding belly band). Add flower, stamped off with Rich Razzleberry ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock. Cut out and adhere to band, as shown. Add Basic Pearl to flower. Step 9 Step 10 Assemble trifold by sliding completed belly band around trifold card holder. Note: This project was created before the retirement list came out for the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog. Since the Very Vanilla 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon that I used retired, I have substituted Whisper White 3/8 taffeta ribbon in the Materials/Supplies List.
