THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER SERIES 2 EPISODE 5 ALIEN Based on the book by JACQUELINE WILSON KIDS: Is someone in there? Go away! We re in a very scary place, of the Dumping Ground. Tracy sees something, it s the monster. It s the monster what are we going to do now? What s going on in the spare bedroom? NATHAN: Don t go there. It s Lol s school project. The kids are helping out. They re making a film. NATHAN: It s all about a room. That no-one goes into. Oooh NATHAN: Ever. NATHAN: Ow. 1

And Tracy is now reaching out towards the monster. BOUNCER: So, how did I look? Creepy. BOUNCER: How creepy? Not as creepy as you look without the mask. BOUNCER: Hey! Here we go And here, we re in the very scary place of the Dumping Ground. Tracy sees something, it s the monster - it s gruesome and it smells really, really bad. What are we going to do now? And Tracy is now reaching out towards the monster Goodnight. And good luck. Okay who knows any really gruesome ghost stories? NATHAN: Cool! LOUISE: I want to go to the toilet. LOUISE:. LOUISE: Louise! Can you come with me? I can t help it. It s those ghost stories. I m really spooked. 2

LOUISE: Justine JUSTINE Don t be such a baby! Louise! Tracy Beaker, Ghost Buster. Great. First I get sent to a dump. Then it s full of complete nutters. Now I believe we ve all met Amber - despite the fact that she arrived very late last night But I m sure we all want to welcome her, formally, to our home - and hope she ll be very (BEAT) happy. She s run away from her last two homes. NATHAN: Doesn t mean she won t settle in this one. NATHAN: She just needs a chance that s all. NATHAN: Once she makes friends she ll be fine. I have done it. Done what ow! 3

Written the next scene. Now all I need is a scary mutant. Next Too goofy. Just doesn t do it for me. Too blonde.. She s - FAB. ELAINE: Tracy!!!! Naaa.naaaa! Well, what do you think? Eh? Too stupid-looking! And where is the talent around here?! Go! This place sucks. Oh. It s the pits. 4

How do you stop yourself from going completely mad? You just sort of do. When I took off from my last two homes I d just close my eyes - and then Well go on, then. I d just pick a place still with my eyes closed and then I d just take off. Public toilet. Scotland? Too near. Wales. Outer Mongolia?! America Australia TRAFFIC WARDEN: Hey! TRAFFIC WARDEN: You can t sit up there. TRAFFIC WARDEN: And that s vandalism that is! Tracy!!! She s really OK in fact she can be a lot of fun 5

DG KIDS: Maybe we should get her in your horror movie as um ooh. uh something. The scary mutant! Yeah the scary mutants! BOUNCER: mutant!! mutant. So where is it? NATHAN: Where s what? My camera. I left it in my room. Has anyone seen Amber? She s supposed to be having her assessment session with Elaine. You d better not be looking for me. And don t go getting any stupid ideas about trying to be my friend. I don t do friends. Friends let you down. Like family. So what are you doing? Have you got any plans? 6

I don t do plans either. I m just taking off. Where to? Anywhere I fancy. Trouble is I was going to flog this. Use the money for bus fare. But it s got a security tag hasn t it? I ve tried all the shops. No-one will take it. You won t get very far without money. Did you work that out all by yourself? Maybe you should come back to the Dumping Ground. While you think of something else. They d kill me. You ve only been gone a couple of hours. And this? How do I explain that? So the way it would go now is that the girl runs out of the room - that no-one ever, ever goes into ever, ever, ever - 7

She runs into the woods only to find That she really shouldn t go there either. It was Amber s idea. Cool, eh? And that s why she took my camera? Because she wanted to shoot some stuff herself? Course. She wasn t stealing it? What s the point? It s got a security tag. She couldn t sell it anyway. No it hasn t. 8
