Greeting Card Set with Decorative Box Designed By: Monika A Davis November 2013 Make this all occasion greeting card set with a matching decorative box to hold them. It is the perfect present for anyone. It s easy to make and can be mass produced without any difficulties. The box, with its magnetic closure, can be re-used over and over. Great too for a stamp camp, or as a class project. Instructions Step 1 Cut an 8-3/8 x 9-3/4 piece of Smoky Slate card stock. Score at 7/8 and 1-7/8 on all four sides. Next cut the flap and the side pieces (as shown in Step1b). Put Sticky Strip on the small flaps (numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4) and adhere the base of the box. Then add adhesive to the inside of the bigger flaps (numbers 4, 5, 6, and 7) and fold the flaps down, making the sides of the box.
Step 1a Step 1b Step 1c Step 1d Step 2 Cut two 6-1/8 x 6-6/8 pieces of Smoky Slate card stock. Score both pieces at 1 along the shorter side. These will be the cover pieces. To cut the window opening out, make pencil lines 1-1/4 from the score lines and the other two sides. Using a Craft Knife, cut out the rectangle window. Step 2a Step 2b
Step 3 Next adhere the two cover pieces together with Sticky Strip. Step 3 Step 4 Next cut a 4-1/2 x 5-7/8 piece of Smoky Slate card stock. Make pencil lines 1 from all four edges, and using a Craft Knife, cut out the rectangle window. Erase the pencil marks. Stamp the piece with the Dictionary background stamp with Smoky Slate ink. Then sponge the edges with Smoky Gray ink using a Sponge Dauber. Cut a 1-1/2 piece of Calypso Coral ¾ Chevron ribbon. Fold it in half, and adhere the piece to the inside of the frame. Next cut a 3-1/2 x 4-1/2 Window Sheet. Adhere the sheet to the cover, and then adhere the frame on top. Step 4a Step 4b Step 4c Step 4d
Step 5 Next, if you don t have magnetic discs, cut or punch four ½ magnet squares or circles. Attach two small magnets (positive magnets if they are marked) to the inside of the cover flap. Please make sure you are using strong enough magnets that will hold the box shut. Cut a 1 x 6-1/8 piece of Smoky Slate card stock and cover the inside of the flap, hiding the magnets. Then attach the (negative magnets if they are marked) to the front side of the box. Next adhere the box to the bottom cover with Sticky Strip, and adhere the flap to the box, covering the magnets. Step 5a Step 5b Step 5c Step 6 On an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White card stock, stamp seven leaf images with Gumball Green ink, seven small flower images with Island Indigo ink from the Fabulous Florets stamp set. Cut a 4 x 8 piece of Calypso Coral card stock, and stamp seven big flower images with Calypso Coral ink from the Fabulous Florets stamp set. Cut out all of the images. Take one set of images, and decorate the front of the box with them. Adhere some rhinestones and a button to the cover. Cut a 6 piece of Calypso Coral Baker s Twine and make a bow out of it. Adhere the bow to the button with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Step 6a Step 6b Cards (six cards in two different sizes) Instructions
Step 1 Cut the following pieces: three 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 and three 4-1/8 x 4-1/8 pieces of Gumball Green card stock, six 1-3/4 x 4-1/8 pieces of Smoky Slate card stock, six 1-1/2 pieces of Calypso Coral ¾ Chevron ribbon, and six 6 pieces of Calypso Coral Baker s Twine. Stamp the Smoky Slate pieces with the Dictionary background stamp with Smoky Slate ink. Then sponge the edges with Smoky Gray ink using a Sponge Dauber. Make bows out of the Baker s Twine pieces. Fold the Chevron ribbon pieces in half. Also take out six Paper Doily pieces. Step1 Step 2 Start assembling the cards. First adhere the doily, then the Smoky Slate strips to the Gumball Green pieces. Next adhere the Chevron ribbon piece, then the leaf and flower images. Then adhere the buttons and the bows with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Step 2a Step 2b Step 2c Step 3 Cut three 11 x 4-1/4 pieces and three 8-1/4 x 4-1/4 pieces of Whisper White card stock and fold them in half. Adhere the card fronts to the white base cards. Place six cards and six envelopes into the box.
