Serviette on canvas YOU WILL NEED 2 x canvases in the size you require 2 x serviettes of your choice Gel medium (I used Dala) Paintbrush Scissors 1 Cut out the serviette motif that you wish to stick onto the canvas. Separate the layers of the serviette you will need only the printed layer. 2 Remove the plastic cover from the canvas. Place the canvases on a craft mat. 3 Spread a thin layer of gel medium onto the first canvas. 4 Working quickly, place the serviette motif in position on the canvas. 5 Working very carefully, apply another layer of gel medium to the canvas. Let it dry. 6 Take the next canvas and repeat all the above steps. Allow it to dry. I absolutely love Proteas. Not only are they simply beautiful, but they are also very dear to my heart because they were my late father-in-law s favourite flower too. I always buy three King Proteas and place them in our kitchen as they remind me so much of him. 7 Finally, apply another layer of glue medium to each canvas and allow it to dry completely before you hang it on your wall or give it to a special friend. This project is so simple and easy, yet it makes a beautiful statement. I simply bought a beautiful Protea serviette pack and used gel medium to stick the image onto the canvas. 16
Starbucks glass-jar cards YOU WILL NEED 2 x coffee jars (I used Starbucks bottles) Transparent glass paint (I used Plaid Mod Podge) Patterned paper Ribbon Lace Cuttlebug Cuttlebug dies 1 Clean the bottles thoroughly and allow them to dry. 2 To paint the insides of the jars, squeeze glass paint into each jar, screw on the lid tightly, and swirl the jar around until the paint covers the entire interior surface. 3 Using patterned paper, cut out various shapes and sizes that can be tied around the necks of the bottles. 4 Create a beautiful feature, using your Cuttlebug and a die of your choice. 5 Use ribbon to tie all the elements around the necks of the bottles. 6 To create the top feature, simply use a hand punch to punch a decorative card, and attach it to the lid. I used the words on the ribbon to create a title. This glass-jar card adds a twist to the traditional birthday or thank-you card. I decided to use the new Mod Podge glass paint to make a bottle card. You can fill the bottle with sweets or keepsakes, and attach a card to the neck of the bottle to convey your birthday wish or say thanks. 36
Rainbow tin YOU WILL NEED 1 x tin in the shape of your choice (I used a square one) White paint Paintbrush Stamps (variety) Inkpads (pastel colours) 1 Wipe the tin to remove any dirt. 2 Paint the tin white. Let it dry completely. 3 Apply a second layer of paint, making sure that the tin is evenly coated in white paint. Allow it to dry completely. 4 Using your stamps and inkpads, decorate the entire tin. 5 Fill the tin with tags, ribbon, baker s twine, and pegs. 6 Finally, tie a beautiful ribbon around it. Painting and stamping are some of my favourite scrapbooking activities. I love to create gifts for friends and family members, and these two activities are usually the start of something beautiful. This tin will serve a purpose for the recipient. I filled it with tags, ribbon and various gift-wrapping items. 64
Craft caddy YOU WILL NEED 1 x wooden craft caddy Spray paint in the colour of your choice (I used turquoise) White acrylic paint Paintbrush Pattern paper Trimmer Ribbon Washi tape Wooden letters 1 Wipe the craft caddy clean. Spray-paint it turquoise and let it dry completely. 2 Use your trimmer to cut two pieces of patterned paper to measure 16 cm x 9 cm. 3 Using the white acrylic paint, drybrush the sides of the dry craft caddy to add a dash of white. 4 Using double-sided tape, attach the patterned paper to the caddy. 5 Tie ribbon around the caddy and make a bow. 6 Use washi tape to add decorative patterns. 7 Attach the wooden words or letters to your craft caddy. Enjoy this beautiful and handy caddy. Every crafter requires a beautiful craft caddy to store her supplies. It s also a way of transporting your crafting supplies, with an added bit of attitude. It s a quick and easy project that will ensure lots of compliments and I would love to have one comments. 112
Pretty lace storage YOU WILL NEED Cardstock in two colours of your choice Trimmer Lace Hole punch Ribbon 1 Cut your cardstock into 8 cm x 13 cm strips. 2 Wrap the lace around the tag, tucking the end of the lace into the wrapped lace. 3 Using the small hole punch, punch a hole in the tag in the middle at the top. 4 Weave the ribbon through the small hole and make a knot to secure it. 5 Finally, place it in a nice little holder and place it in your craft space. As a fellow crafter, I am sure you also have loads of ribbon and lace lying around; but when you need to use it, it is normally all tangled up. I decided to organise mine and create little statement items in my craft room. 122
