The plicy includes devices used n rftps t prtect the DC plant. It des nt cver Raycap devices used t prtect RRH/RRUs as thse devices are nly available in utdr rated enclsures. Exceptins t the lcatin standards are als cvered in the plicy. Current and previus mdels are shwn belw DC6-48-60-RM (CEQ 32405) DC12-48-60-RM (CEQ 32407) Current Rack Munt Raycap Previus Rack Munt Raycap (n lnger rderable) The rack munt units are t be installed in a FIF rack Lcate near the tp f the rack t prvide maximum prtectin f ther equipment and prvide the shrtest grunding path Rack may be a DC equipment nly (Raycap, stand-alne cnverter shelves, etc.) r a hybrid style rack cntaining bth DC and cmmunicatins equipment Grunding must be in accrdance with Plicy Letter ATT-CEM-13002, FIF Installatin & Grunding f 3G/4G RF and DC Equipment Rack munt units shall nt be installed in DC plant r battery racks Expses the DC plant t surge damage Limits grwth f the DC plant and batteries Increases amunt f wiring in the DC plant area In the event there is nt adequate rack space fr munting a Raycap, it is acceptable t wall munt a NEMA style utdr Raycap device under the fllwing cnditins: Preferred lcatin is near the Cell Reference Grund Bar (CRGB) t prvide maximum surge prtectin Utilize a Raycap that will accmmdate necessary grwth until rack space is available Prvide a prper wire ruting path between the Raycap and DC plant. It may be necessary t install vertical cable ladder n the wall t transitin frm the Raycap t the verhead cable ladder When used indrs, NEMA style Raycap devices are nt required t be sealed using cnventinal cnduit, glands r Rxtec entry prts prvided the cables and alarm wire are prperly secured prir t entering the Raycap It is strngly recmmended that Hybrid style racks (Item Master # NEQ 16971) be utilized fr indr Raycap installatins. The Hybrid rack will accmmdate up t 3 rack munt Raycaps alng with varius cmmunicatin equipment devices. Grunding methds, per ATT-TP-76416 and Plicy Letter ATT-CEM-13002, are fully cmpliant using the Hybrid rack Page 2 f 5
AT&T C&E Mbility Prgram Office Plicy Letter Sectin 2: Exceptins fr indr sites Indr Raycap devices nt installed per Sectin 1 are grandfathered under the fllwing cnditins: Units already installed may remain in their present lcatin until existing DC trunk cables are exhausted Example, if tw DC trunk cables are currently installed, the Raycap may remain in its present lcatin until mre than 6 RRH/RRUs are installed. When the 7 th (and beynd) RRH/RRU is installed, alng with new DC trunk cables, a new rack munt unit must be installed per Sectin 1 r the existing unit must be mved and cmply with Sectin 1 Units already installed are nt required t be relcated if any f the fllwing cnditins exist: Additinal csts will be incurred t mve units Cmmercial launch dates will be delayed DC trunk cables wuld require splicing t reach the new lcatin. DC trunk cables are nt t be spliced under any cnditins If Raycap units are nt installed but are n rder and the apprpriate FIF racks are nt n rder, every effrt must be made t rder & install the FIF rack withut jepardizing cmmercial launch dates If FIF racks cannt be rdered & installed in time t meet launch dates the Raycap may be installed in the DC plant frame (belw the DC plant) prvided the fllwing prvisins are made: Terminate the minimum number f DC drps in the plant and at the Raycap t meet the immediate requirements, such as 3 RRH/RRUs fr 1 st carrier Leave adequate DC trunk cable slack t allw mving the trunk cables t a FIF rack when the next expansin prject (2C, 3C, etc.) is installed Trunk cable slack may be ciled and temprarily secured t the DC plant frame rail r t the stringer (side) f the verhead cable rack prvided it des nt interfere with ther wiring r equipment Slack shall be secured with lacing crd DC drps between the plant and Raycap shall be the prper length and must be replaced if they are nt lng enugh t prperly reach the new FIF lcatin Apprved TelcFlex wire must be used between the DC plant and Raycap per AT-002-290-701 Grund wire shall be the prper length and must be replaced if it is nt lng enugh t prperly reach the new FIF lcatin Page 3 f 5

Examples f apprved mdels are shwn belw DC12-48-60-0-25E (CEQ 12659); equipped with bth 2 cnduit & gland fittings DC6-48-60-0-1B-01 (CEQ 10279); equipped with Rxtec entry prt DC6-48-60-0-1B-1E (CEQ 10506); equipped with 2 cnduit entry prts FC12PC6-10E (ANT 13887); 18 pair fiber & DC distributin nly, n DC surge prtectin Raycap devices are t be installed n a H-frame, wall, pipe, unistrut r ther acceptable munting surface that is cmpatible with the device Rack munt units are nt t be used at utdr sites regardless f munting lcatin unless they are in a dedicated cabinet, such as a Purcell FLX12, that cntains n ther equipment D nt install Raycap devices in cabinets cntaining cmmunicatins equipment such as BBUs, SIADs, etc. May expse cmmunicatins equipment t nise and pssible surge damage Des nt meet the grunding islatin requirements f ATT-TP-76416 Page 4 f 5
