With right sides together, align the 2½" square with lower right corner of one 3¾" Fabric D (gold circle print) square. Stitch on the drawn line. Open and press to reveal the right side of the Fabric G (blue dot print) triangle. To reduce bulk, trim the hidden Fabric G (blue dot print) triangle underneath to ¼" from the sewn line for Unit 2b. Unit 2b should measure 3¾" square. Make a total of one Unit 2b. Diagram 3 4. Referring to Diagram 4 and noting orientation of the pieces, sew one 1¼" x 3¾" Fabric J (white tonal) rectangle to the left side of Unit 2b. Sew one 1¼" x 4½" Fabric J (white tonal) rectangle to the top of Unit 2b. Unit 2b should now measure 4½" square. Diagram 4 Quilt Instructions Block A 1. Referring to Diagram 1, draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one 2½" Fabric G (blue dot print) square. With right sides together, align the 2½" square with top left corner of one 4½" x 8½" Fabric D (gold circle print) rectangle. Stitch on the drawn line. Open and press to reveal the right side of the Fabric G (blue dot print) triangle. To reduce bulk, trim the hidden Fabric G (blue dot print) triangle underneath to ¼" from the sewn line. Repeat this step with the top right corner of the same 4½" x 8½" Fabric D (gold circle print) rectangle for Unit 1. Unit 1 should measure 4½" x 8½". Make a total of one Unit 1. Diagram 1 5. Referring to Diagram 5, and noting orientation of the pieces, sew Unit 2a to Unit 2b for Unit 2. Unit 2 should measure 4½" x 8½". Make a total of one Unit 2. Diagram 5 6.
