For 40 years, The Hummingbird Stitchers Quilt Guild has been serving the Sierra Vista community with the gifts of our hands and our hearts. We will receive the 2017 Mayor's Arts & Humanities Award for Visual Arts Organization. The awards ceremony will be at the Cochise College Community Room on Sunday, January 28 at 3 pm. Everyone is invited to represent and celebrate our Guild at the ceremony. We'll be displaying some of our beautiful community quilts. 2017 has been a year of incredible service projects that have touched the lives of cancer patients, foster children, disaster victims, veterans, our elderly neighbors, and others less fortunate than ourselves. As I count my blessings, I include all our members because each of you make this a friendly, welcoming, and caring group. Here's to a Joyful 2018 that will continue our traditions of creativity, service, friendship and lifelong learning! From my family to all of yours, Happy 2018!
