Fabric B- White Hearts 0495-0140 7/8 yard Cut two 4 ½ x 31 ½ strips. Cut three 4 ½ x 42 strips. Sew together and cut two 4 ½ x 43 ½ strips. Fabric C- White Holly 0497-0140 2/3 yard Cut two 10 ½ x 42 strips. Sub-cut into four 10 ½ squares. Fabric D- Light Blue Snowflakes 0496-0122 1 ¼ yards Cut four 2 ½ x 42 strips. Sub-cut into sixty-four 2 ½ squares. Cut four 6 ½ x 42 strips. Sub-cut into sixty-four 2 ½ x 6 ½ strips. Fabric E- Teal Hearts 0495-0122 1/2 yard Cut five 2 ½ x 42 strips. Fabric F- Dark Blue Snowflakes 0496-0110 3/8 yard Cut four 2 ½ x 42 strips. Fabric G- Red Holly 0497-0111 1 yard Cut five 2 ½ x 42 strips. Sub-cut into eighty 2 ½ squares. Cut seven 2 ½ x 42 strips. Sew together and cut two 2 ½ x 70 ½ strips and two 2 ½ x 54 ½ strips. Fabric H- Multi Stripe 0493-0122 1 yard Cut three 2 ½ x 42 strips. Sub-cut into forty-eight 2 ½ squares. Cut eight 2 ½ x 42 strips for the binding. Fabric I- Tossed Snowmen 0494-0122 2 ¾ yards Cut four 5 ½ x 42 strips. Sew together and cut two 5 ½ x 64 ½ strips. Cut two 5 ½ x 74 ½ strips from the length of fabric. Cut six 6 ½ squares from the remaining fabric. Fabric J- Green 0498-0114 1/3 yard Use templates on Page 4 to cut four large leaves and eight small leaves. Fabric K- Red 0498-0111 Fat 1/8 Use templates on Page 4 to cut twelve berries. Backing- Teal Hearts 0495-0122 5 ½ yards Cut two 92 x 42 strips. Sew and trim to make one 72 x 92 backing. Block Assembly Instructions 1) Sew one 4 ½ x 43 ½ Fabric B to each side of the 23 ½ x 43 ½ Fabric A panel. Sew one 4 ½ x 31 ½ Fabric B strip to the top and bottom of the Fabric A panel (Fig. 1). Trim the panel to 30 ½ x 50 ½ (Fig. 2). 2) Follow the manufacturer s instructions to trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about 1/8 outside the drawn lines. 3) Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the template. Cut out each template on the drawn lines. 4) Press one Fabric J large leaf, two Fabric J small leaves and three Fabric K berries onto a 10 ½ Fabric C square to make one Corner Block (Fig. 3). Repeat to make a total of four Corner Blocks. Finish the raw edges of the appliquéd shapes with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch. 5) Place one 2 ½ Fabric G square on the left side of the one 2 ½ x 6 ½ Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 5).Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. 6) Place another 2 ½ Fabric G square on the right side of the 2 ½ x 6 ½ Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 6). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 6). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 7). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. Repeat to make a total of forty D/G flying geese for Block One. 7) Repeat Steps 5-6 using forty-eight 2 ½ Fabric H squares and the remaining twentyfour 2 ½ 6 ½ Fabric G strips to make a total of twenty-four D/H flying geese for Block Two (Fig. 8). 8) Sew one 2 ½ x 42 Fabric E strip to each side of one 2 ½ x 42 Fabric F strip, lengthwise to make one strip set. Repeat to make a second strip set. Cut across the sewn strips to make twenty top/bottom units (Fig. 9). 9) Sew one 2 ½ x 42 Fabric F strip to each side of one 2 ½ x 42 Fabric E strip, lengthwise to make one strip set. Cut across the sewn strips to make ten middle units (Fig. 10). 10) Follow Figure 11 to sew together one middle unit and two top/bottom units to make one 6 ½ checkerboard block. Repeat to make ten checkerboard blocks total. Refer to Figure 11 for Steps 11 and 12 11) Sew one D/G flying geese to each side of the checkerboard block. 12) Sew one 2 ½ Fabric D square to each end of one D/G flying geese and sew this strip to the top of the checkerboard block. Repeat to make and sew the bottom row to the checkerboard block to complete one Block One square. Repeat Steps 11-12 to make a total of ten Block One squares. Refer to Figure 12 for Steps 13 and 14 13) Sew one D/H flying geese to each side of a 6 ½ Fabric I square. 14) Sew one 2 ½ Fabric D square to each end of one D/H flying geese and sew this strip to the top of the 6 ½ Fabric I square. Repeat to make a second strip and sew this strip to the bottom of the 6 ½ Fabric I square to complete one Block Two square. Repeat Steps 13-14 to make a total of six Block Two squares. Quilt Top Assembly Instructions - Refer to the quilt layout while assembling the quilt top. 15) Sew three Block One squares and two Block Two squares together, alternating them, to make the left side border. Sew this border to the quilt top. Repeat to make and sew the right side border to the quilt top. 16) Sew together two Corner Blocks, two Block One squares and one Block Two square to make the top border. 17) Sew 2 ½ x 70 ½ Fabric G strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 ½ x 54 ½ Fabric G strip to the top and bottom of quilt top. 18) Sew one 5 ½ x 74 ½ Fabric I strip to each side of the quilt. Sew one 5 ½ x 64 ½ Fabric I strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. 19) Layer and quilt as desired. 20) Sew the eight 2-1/2 x 42 Fabric H strips together end-to-end with 45 seams to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 21) Bind as desired strips together end-to-end with 45-degree seams to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 22) Bind as desired.
