Pick a Petal Spring Flower Pot Designed By: Erika Martin March 2011 These flowers are great to use as a centerpiece in a clay pot! You can also use them as favors for bridal showers, birthday parties, wedding favors and even as bookmarks. The white embossing powder on colored card stock gives them a pretty pop of color. Instructions Step 1 Using a Big Shot and the Flower Folds die, cut two flowers each from Bashful Blue, More Mustard and Pretty in Pink card stock. Note: All stamped images are from the Pick a Petal stamp set and are stamped using VersaMark ink.
Step 1 Step 2 On Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red and So Saffron card stock, stamp eight petals on each. Sprinkle white embossing powder on the images. Step 2
Step 3 Stamp six small polka dot petal images on Wild Wasabi card stock. Sprinkle with white embossing powder. Using a Heat Tool, emboss all stamped images from Steps 2 and 3. Step 3 Step 4 Stamp one of the small round images three times on More Mustard card stock. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and emboss images. Using a 1 Circle punch, punch out the round images. Using Paper Snips, cut around each of the petal images leaving approximately a 1/8 border around each one. Step 4
Step 5 Adhere the embossed petals to the coordinating die cut flowers so that each of the petals from the die cut poke out from behind as shown. Do this for all three flowers Step 5 Step 6 Apply Stampin Dimensionals to the backs of the More Mustard circles and adhere them to the centers of the flowers. Step 6
Step 7 Apply SNAIL adhesive to the end of a Popsicle stick (on both sides) and wrap a 2 piece of Certainly Celery 5/8 grosgrain ribbon around the end. Apply more adhesive to both sides of the popsicle stick and wrap around the stick, making your way to the top (I keep mine attached to the spool so I don t cut off more or less than is needed). When you reach the top, cut the ribbon and adhere to the stick. This will be the flower stem. Make one for each flower. Step 7 Step 8 Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, tack down the top of the Popsicle stick to the back of the flower. Add Stampin Dimensionals to the rest of the petals and in the center of the flower. Apply a little more glue to the top of the stick as shown and adhere the second flower that you cut out in Step 1. Let glue set. Step 8
Step 9 Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue adhere two leaves each to the backs of the Popsicle sticks. Allow glue to set fully before moving them. Step 9 Step 10 Fill a clay pot with crinkle paper (I like to use craft colored crinkle paper as it looks like soil). Apply some adhesive to the outside of the pot, under the rim. Wrap a piece of Pretty in Pink 5/8 grosgrain ribbon around the pot and tie with a knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon. Arrange the flowers in the pot. All done! Step 10
