Table Saw Gift Card Holder Designed By: Amanda Corbet May 2012 Do you know someone who likes to work with wood? Do you want to give them a gift card in a really special way? This project would be perfect! This interactive Table Saw Gift Card Holder will require the recipient to do just a little bit of work to get the gift card out and looks like a table saw ready to cut a piece of plywood! Instructions Step 1 Cut two 3-1/2 x 8 pieces of Marina Mist card stock. Use your Simply Scored to score as shown in the diagram below. Use Paper Snips to trim along the red lines. Apply Sticky Strip in the locations indicated with the blue lines. Repeat on the other piece of Marina Mist card stock.

1/2 4 1/2 3 Step 1 Step 2 Cut two 2-1/2 x 8 pieces of Marina Mist card stock. Use your Simply Scored to score as shown in the diagram below. Use Paper Snips to trim along the red lines. Apply Sticky Strip in the locations indicated with the blue lines. Repeat on the other piece of Marina Mist card stock. 1/2 4 1/2 3 Step 3 Cut pieces of thin cardboard as follows: Cut two 2-3/8 x 3-3/8 pieces. Cut two 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 pieces. Cut two 1-3/8 x 3-3/8 pieces. Cut two 1-3/8 x 3-7/8 pieces. Step 2 Step 4 Adhere the 2-3/8 x 3-3/8 thin cardboard pieces onto the smaller sections of the Marina Mist card stock that you cut and scored in Step 1 with an Anywhere Glue Stick (Step 4a). Adhere the 1-3/8 x 3-3/8 thin cardboard pieces onto the smaller section of the Marina Mist card stock that you cut and scored in Step 2 with an

Anywhere Glue Stick (Step 4b). Make sure the thin cardboard is adhered onto the side that does not have Sticky Strip. Step 4a Step 4b Step 5 Remove the Sticky Strip liner from one of the side tabs on the 3-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock and adhere the tab onto the other 3-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock section that does not have the thin cardboard. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from one of the side tabs on the 2-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock and adhere the tab onto the other 2-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock section that does not have thin cardboard. Step 5 Step 6 Remove the Sticky Strip liner from just one of the tabs on the top of the 3-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock and adhere it onto the bottom tab of the 2-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock. Repeat moving one tab at a time across the card stock until you have all of the tabs in the middle adhered together.

Step 6 Step 7 Adhere one of the 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 pieces of thin cardboard onto the remaining middle section of the 3-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Adhere one of the 1-3/8 x 3-7/8 pieces of thin cardboard onto the remaining middle section of the 2-1/2 x 8 piece of Marina Mist card stock with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Step 7 Step 8 Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the remaining side tab on the top half of the card stock and adhere it inside the first section of Marina Mist card stock where there is no thin cardboard to form the box. Repeat with the remaining side tab on the bottom half of the card stock.

Step 8 Step 9 Adhere the remaining 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 piece of thin cardboard inside the remaining bottom section of Marina Mist card stock with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Adhere the remaining 1-3/8 x 3-7/8 piece of thin cardboard inside the remaining top section of Marina Mist card stock with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Step 10 Use the Word Window punch to punch the slot in one of the longer sides in the narrow top section of the box. To insert the punch you will have to fold down one of the tabs on the inside of the box. Slide the punch as far to the left as you can with it centered in the height of the top section of the box and punch. Now move the punch as far to the right as you can and line up the top and bottom of the word window with where you have already punched and punch again. This will create the slot for the gift card to slide out. Step 10a Step 10b Step 11 Cut one 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Marina Mist card stock. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the tabs on larger bottom section of the box and adhere the Marina Mist card stock to create the bottom of the box.

Step 11 Step 12 Cut one 3-3/8 x 3-7/8 piece of thin cardboard. Apply Sticky Strip around the edge of the thin cardboard on just one side. Remove the Sticky Strip liner and adhere this piece into the inside of the bottom of the. This will make the bottom of the box sturdy. Step 12a Step 12b Step 13 Cut one 5-1/2 x 7-3/4 piece of Basic Gray card stock. Use your Simply Scored to score on line lines shown in the diagram below. Set aside the scrap from one of the corners. You will use it later.

1/2 1 6-3/4 7-1/4 1/2 1 5 5-1/2 Step 13 Step 14 Cut a 3-7/8 x 5-5/8 piece of thin cardboard. Adhere the thin cardboard onto the center section of the Basic Gray card stock with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Make sure that the thin cardboard is adhered onto the same side as the Sticky Strip. Step 15 With a ruler, measure from the edge of the 3-7/8 side of the thin cardboard and use a pen to put a mark at 2, 2-3/4, and at 3-1/2. Repeat to place another set of marks near the top of the thin cardboard. Now rotate the card stock 90 degrees so that the 3-7/8 side is towards you. Line up the ruler with one set of marks that you made previously with the edge of the ruler lined up with the 5-5/8 long edge of the thin cardboard. Use a pen to place marks at 1 and 3. Move the ruler to another set of the marks that you made previously and repeat. Line up the ruler with the marks and draw lines (Step 15c). Use the ruler and craft knife to cut a slit approximately 1/8 wide on each of the three lines that you drew (Step 15d). Step 15a Step 15b

Step 15c Step 15d Step 16 Remove the Sticky Strip liner from both ends of one long side tab. Adhere the small tab inside the first section of the long tab. Repeat on the other end and other side of the card stock. Fold the short side tab in and then fold the long side tab over it to adhere that corner in place. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the bottom of the large tab and adhere it inside the first section of the tab. Repeat on the other piece of Brushed Silver card stock. These will be used as the rails of the table saw. Step 20 Step 21 Use the Scallop Circle punch on a scrap of Brushed Silver card stock. Adhere the scalloped circle onto the sticky part of a Post-It Note (Step 21a). Insert the scalloped circle back into the Scallop Circle punch using the Post-It Note to position the card stock so that the scallops on the punch are in the center of the scallops on the card stock (Step 21b). Punch and now you have your saw blade (Step 21c).

Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the other scrap piece and adhere it onto the other side of the blade and the underside of the table top (Step 22d). Step 22a Step 22b

Step 22c Step 22d Step 23 Cut one 3 x 5-1/2 piece of Marina Mist card stock. Using your Simply Scored score in the location indicated in the diagram below. Apply Sticky Strip in the locations indicated with the blue lines. Make sure the edge of the Sticky Strip is right against the edge of the card stock. Remove the Sticky Strip liner and fold the card stock on the score line to create the pocket for the gift card. 2-1/2 Step 23 Step 24 Use a ruler to measure up from the fold of the card stock 3/4 and use a pen to place a mark. Move the ruler to a second location and make another mark 3/4 from the fold. Turn the card stock so that the open end is facing you. Line up the ruler with the 3/4 marks and line up the edge of the ruler with the edge of the card stock. Place a mark at 3/4 and at 1-1/2. Step 25 Cut two 1/2 x 1-3/4 pieces of Marina Mist card stock. Use your Simply Scored to score in the locations shown in the diagram below. Apply Sticky Strip in the locations indicated with the blue lines.

1/2 1-1/4 Step 25 Step 26 Fold the Marina Mist card stock strips on the score lines. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from one tab of the card stock and adhere it onto the card pocket in the location that you have marked in Step 24. Step 26 Step 27 Cut a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of thin cardboard. Use the ruler to place a mark 1 from the 4-1/4 side in two places. Rotate the thin cardboard 90 degrees to the right and line up the ruler with your marks and the end of the ruler with the edge of the cardboard. Place a mark at 3 and draw a line from the end of the ruler to the 3 mark. Use a craft knife to cut a slot approximately1/8 wide along the line that you drew (Step 27c). Use an Early Espresso marker to color the sides of the thin cardboard around the edges and inside of the slot (Step 27d). Step 27a Step 27b

Step 27c Step 27d Step 28 Cut two 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 pieces of Crumb Cake card stock. Stamp both pieces of card stock with the Woodgrain background stamp in Early Espresso ink. Adhere one piece of Crumb Cake card stock onto one side of the thin cardboard that you cut in Step 26 with an Anywhere Glue Stick. Use Paper Snips to cut out the slot. Repeat with the other piece of Crumb Cake card stock on the other side of the thin cardboard. Step 29 Insert the tabs on the card pocket through the remaining two slots on the table top. Apply 2-Way Glue Pen onto the side of the tabs opposite the Sticky Strip. Allow the 2-Way Glue Pen to dry until it is clear, then temporarily adhere the tabs onto the table top slid as far back in the slots as they can go. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the tabs and place the plywood that you made in Step 27 over the blade and adhere it onto those tabs. Make sure that the end of the plywood completely covers the slots in the table top. Step 29a Step 29b Step 29c

Step 30 Remove the Sticky Strip from the four tabs on the box base and adhere the table top in place. Make sure that your card pocket slot faces the slot in the box bottom! Step 31a Step 31b Step 32 Apply Sticky Strip onto the bottom of the rails that you made in Step 19 and 20. Make sure that the Sticky Strip does not go all the way to the end because the rail will extend past the ends of the table top. Remove the Sticky Strip liner and adhere the rails onto the long sides of the table top. Step 32 Step 33 Cut one 3-1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic Gray card stock. Use your Simply Scored to score as shown in the picture below. Trim with Paper Snips as shown in the diagram below with the red lines. Apply Sticky Strip in the locations with the blue lines.

Step 33 Step 34 Fold the card stock on all of the score lines. Remove the Sticky Strip from the two square tabs and adhere the tabs inside the top flap. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the triangular tabs and adhere them behind the other triangle. Make sure to line up the outside triangle with the fold on the card stock. Use Paper Snips to trim off the triangle with the Sticky Strip even with the outside triangle. Remove the Sticky Strip liner from the top tab and fold the side tabs over the top tab to adhere them in place (Step 34c). Remove the remaining pieces of Sticky Strip on the side and bottom tabs and adhere the box onto the side of the table saw base (Step 34d). Step 34a Step 34b

Step 34c Step 34d Step 35 Use the Large Oval punch to punch an oval in the center of a scrap of Basic Black card stock. Now line up the punch with where you previously punched out the oval and move the punch just a little bit up or down to get something like what you see in the picture below and punch. Step 35 Step 36 Adhere the crescent shape onto the front of the table saw with the 2-Way Glue Pen. Use the 1/2 circle punch on a scrap of Brushed Silver card stock. Use the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack on a scrap of Basic Gray card stock. Adhere the Basic Gray circle on top of the Brushed Silver circle with the 2-Way Glue Pen. Use a Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to pierce a hole near the edge of the Basic Gray circle (Step 36a). Insert a Silver brad and spread the prongs on the backside of the Brushed Silver circle. Adhere this on top of the Basic Black crescent shape with a Stampin Dimensional (Step 36b). Use the fine point end of the Basic Gray marker to add little tick marks on the bottom of the crescent shape.

Step 36a Step 36b Step 37 Cut a 1/4 x 3/8 piece of Real Red card stock. Cut a 3/8 x 1/2 piece of Basic Gray card stock. Adhere the Real Red card stock onto the Basic Gray card stock with a Stampin Dimensional. You will have to use Paper Snips to cut a Stampin Dimensional in half. Use the other half of the Stampin Dimensional to adhere the power switch onto the front of the table saw. Now your table saw is finished! Step 37
