Meter Cnnectin Optins Chapter 1: Intrductin In a single inverter system, the meter is cnnected directly t the inverter. Figure 4: Single-inverter 1 cnnectin In a multiple inverter system, tw ptins are available: The meter is cnnected t the RS485 prt f ne f the inverters. In this case, as the inverter's RS485 prt is ccupied by the meter, use an RS485 Expansin Kit (available frm SlarEdge) r ZigBee cmmunicatin between the inverters. The meter is cnnected t ne f the RS485 prts f a CCG. The CCG s secnd RS485 prt can be used t create an RS485 bus fr cmmunicatin between the inverters. This ptin is illustrated in Figure 5. Figure 5: Multi-inverter cnnectin with CCG and meter 1 This figure shws a single phase inverter cnnectin. Fr three phase inverters, 3 CTs are required. 8

Chapter 2: Meter Installatin The meter is cnnected t the inverter using RS485. Installatin Guidelines AC wire specificatins: 1.3 t 2.0 mm diameter / 16-12 AWG stranded wire, 600 V, type THHN, MTW, r THWN. RS485 wiring specificatins: Cable type: Min. 3-wire shielded twisted pair (a 4-wire cable may be used) Wire crss-sectin area: 0.2-1 mm²/ 24-18 AWG (a CAT5 cable may be used) NOTE If using a cable lnger than 10 m/33 ft in areas where there is a risk f induced vltage surges by lightning, it is recmmend t use external surge prtectin devices.
