CLARIFICATIONS A1-21 Question: Is the legend designation for the timber deck Type C supposed to be P7? If so, where on the plans is this material? Yes, the material designation for TIMBER DECK TYPE C ON GRADE - 150 mm WIDTH SEE ENGINEERING DWGS under the PAVING header on Drawing No. 09216-00-AR-DSW-1050 should be P7. This material is only located directly south of the concession and washroom building and seat steps as shown on Drawing No. 09216-00-AR-DSW-1052. A1-22 Question: Is the timber structure above the concession and washroom building N.I.C.? No. The timber structure is in the contract and is described in Section 01 11 00 - Summary of Work in Clause 3.2.8.1. A1-23 Question: Are the piles and pile caps part of a previous contract? Yes. Drawing Nos. 09216-00-MA-DRS-1000 to 09216-00-MA-DRD-1031 were included in the Contract as reference drawings. The scope of work contained on these drawings is currently being completed by M2K Construction Ltd., the marine facilities contractor. The reference drawings shall be used to reference the elevations on site at the completion of the marine facilities Contract and construction zones. A1-24 Question: Are the precast slabs part of a previous contract? Yes. Precast slabs indicated on Drawing Nos. 09216-00-MA-DRS-1000 to 09216-00-MA-DRD-1031 are part of the marine facilities contract currently being completed by marine facilities contractor. All other precast concrete components are included in the landscape contract. A1-25 Question: Is the densification part of a previous contract? Yes. Densification indicated on Drawing Nos. 09216-00-MA-DRS-1000 to 09216-00-MA-DRD-1031 are part of the marine facilities contract currently being completed by marine facilities contractor. A1-26 Question: Is there a detail for the terminal ends of the 100 mm SDR 28 down spouts? Deck drain and area drain details are provided on Drawing No. 09216-00-CI-DLP-1041. The down spouts shall terminate open ended 150 mm below the underside of the precast concrete panels. The marine facilities contractor will provide rough block-outs through the precast concrete panels for these drains. A1-27 Question: What are the specifications for the foam blocks at the transition slabs? The foam blocks at the transition slabs are deleted, as indicated in the attached Drawing No. 09216-00-ST-DRD-1119, Rev. C. A1-28 Question: Is there a detail for the steel expansion joint plates for the cracked asphalt? The steel plates specified to be installed at locations of significant cracks in the existing portion of timber deck to remain at the east end of the site are intended to locally support reinstated asphalt. Assume that these plates will be 12 mm thick and connected to the timber deck on each side of the crack at 300 mm on centre with 150 mm long spikes. A1-29 Question: The 1.8 m height chain-link fence at the play court is not shown on the drawings. Please advise. The material designation for 1.8 m HEIGHT CHAIN LINK FENCE AT PLAY COURT under the SITE MATERIALS header on Drawing No. 09216-00-AR-DSW-1050 is 9. This material is located on the west side of the play court as shown on Drawing No. 09216-00-AR-DSW-1053. A1-30 Question: For the SierraScape plan on Drawing No. 1125, does the line indicating the ground at base of walk refer to the bottom of the buried portion of the [finished grade] of material above the buried portion? For clarification of the vertical extent of the MSE walls, please refer to the attached Drawing No. 09216-00-ST-DAL-1125, Rev. B. A1-31 Question: What is the load capacity of the precast decks? Refer to Reference Drawing No. 09216-00-MA-DRS-1000, Rev. 0. A1-32 Question: Is there a spec or detail for the root barrier? Where [is] the root barrier required? As noted above, the reference to root barrier on Detail 2 on Drawing No. 09216-00-AR-DSQ-1096 is deleted. A1-33 Question: Is there a spec for the drain mat? A1-34 Question: Is there a detail for cleanout manholes? Can you supply the pipe inverts. The cleanout manhole is documented in Drawing No. 09216-00-CI-DRS-1040, Rev. B, General Notes, Section D-4 - Refer to Section 02725 of MMCD 2000 for detailed specification on manholes and catch basins. Drawing No. S1 gives the general arrangement for the 1,050 mm diameter manhole shown on the underground piping plan Drawing Nos. 09216-00-CI-DRS-1041, Rev. C and 09216-00-CI-DRS-1042, Rev. C. Drawing No. S2 in the MMCD details the plan and cutaway section of typical manhole pipe connection. In the New Westminster case, the diameter of the pipes is specified to be 150 mm perforated drain pipe and 200 mm PVC storm drain. The clean out details are shown in Drawing No. S6 - Midblock Cleanout. The cutaway section shows the 45 degree wye connection to a maximum 200 mm diameter 45 degree long bend cleanout pipe. A1-35 Question: Is there a detail for the lawn basins? Can you supply the pipe inverts? The lawn basin is documented in Drawing No. 09216-00-CI-DRS-1040, Rev. B, General Notes, Section D-2 - Lawn Drains: 600 mm diameter precast concrete in accordance with Section 02725 of the MMCD (Type 2). Drawing No. S12 in the MMCD details a cutaway section of the lawn drain. The concrete cylinder has an interior length of 1,200 mm, a wall thickness of 75 mm and a bottom thickness of 150 mm. The surface grating is specified as a Dobney B22A or approved equivalent. Approved native backfill surrounds the drain for its entire depth. An aluminum trapping hood protects a 150 mm outlet connection to the storm sewer. A1-36 Question: Can you clarify what scope of drainage is to be designated site drainage and what scope of drainage is to be storm drainage?
