IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC 2 Quick setup Figure 2.1 IS-IR-KNX-1i integratin example 1. Check the interface lcatin that best fits the installatin (sectin 3.1) 2. Cnnect the interface t the KNX bus. 3. Dwnlad the ETS database fr this prduct, imprt it and add it t the current ETS prject. 4. Access the parameter sectin f the IntesisBx device. Ntice that parameters fr this interface are cnfigured thrugh a specific plugin (sectin 5). 5. Select the cmmunicatin bjects t be used and ther parameters. This step can be mitted if wrking with the default bjects and parameters. 6. Save the cnfiguratin file and dwnlad the applicatin prgram. 7. Clse the plugin and apply changes when asked. 8. Link the grup address frm the cmmunicatin bject f the KNX device with the cmmunicatin bject inside the IntesisBx interface. 9. Dwnlad the ETS parameters as with any ther standard KNX device. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC 3 Device Installatin Lcatin selectin Determining that the IntesisBx device will be wrking as expected in the installatin lcatin is an imprtant stage. In rder t determine the best lcatin fr yur IntesisBx device, use the Wireless Cntrller (the ne f yur AC unit). When selecting the installatin lcatin, please keep in mind that the IntesisBx device has 2 IR emitters and 1 IR receiver. The 2 emitters increase the installatin pssibilities allwing many different suitable psitins fr the device lcatin. On the ther hand, the receiver ffers the pssibility t get the feedback frm the IR wireless remte cntrller s the KNX status bjects can be updated with that feedback. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC Cnnectin t IR and lcatin There is n special requirement t match the IR receiver and the IntesisBx IS-IR-KNX-1i interface. Simply select yur mdel frm the list present in the plugin. If yur AC unit is nt present, please check the cmpatibility list as in sectin 7. Yu can find mre infrmatin abut the IR cnfiguratin in sectin 5.! IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that sme furniture and materials (carpets, curtains, glass, metal ) may affect n the IR cmmunicatin.! NOTE: The IntesisBx device has 2 IR emitters pinting at 2 different lcatins. Cnsidering this and IR reflectins, valid lcatins fr the IntesisBx device may be many and very different depending n each installatin. Check sectin 3.1 fr mre infrmatin. In that case, the signal will travel frm the IntesisBx device t the AC unit tacking advantage f the rebunds n the wall in frnt f it r ther furniture present in the rm. Case D: If yu want t place the device n yur desktp r any ther hrizntal surface, please cnsider the sketch belw. In this case, the signal will travel directly frm the IntesisBx device t the AC unit. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC Binary Input cnnectin IntesisBx IS-IR-KNX.1i interface is equipped with a Binary Input frm factry. T use the built-in binary input in all the IR WIFI Cntrllers, a standard 3,5mm stere jack cnnectr is required. Cnnectins will be as in the image belw. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC Once yu are sure yur installatin is cmpliant with the specificatins, please check the presence sensr r windw cntact yu wuld like t use. Basically, sensrs nly need t be equipped with a ptential free external cntact. N matter if the cntact is NO (Nrmally Open) r NC (Nrmally clsed) as yu will be able t cnfigure the cntact type (NO r NC) f yur sensr in the settings f the Binary Input functin (G t Settings menu in the IntesisBx WEB Site). IMPORTANT NOTE: Please, nte that IS-IR-KNX-1i interface will nly react if the cntact f yur sensr is pened r clsed. In the case f the presence sensr, the installer needs t decide the specific settings f the presence sensr t be applied. IntesisBx will be nt respnsible f the incrrect settings r incrrect installatins. Recmmendatin: In sme presence sensrs r windw cntacts it is pssible t setup a delay time t the external cntact. As yu will see in this manual, IntesisBx Settings allw the user t setup a timer befre starting with the cnfigured actins. Anyway, we recmmend t setup a certain delay time in yur presence sensr r windw cntact t prevent cntinuus cntact changes in a very shrt perid f time. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC 4 Cnfiguratin and setup This is a fully cmpatible KNX device which must be cnfigured and setup using standard KNX tl ETS. Befre starting with the cnfiguratin, please make sure that the binary inputs (if used) and the USB cable are prperly cnnected t the interface. Make sure as well, that the interface is cnnected t the KNX bus t allw the prper dwnlad f the KNX prgramming. In rder t prceed with the cnfiguratin and set up, it is recmmended t fllw instructins next: 1. Dwnlad and install the latest versin f the ETS data base (sectin 5). 2. Open the prduct s plugin and make sure that the catalg is in its last available versin (sectin 5). 3. Select yur AC brand and mdel (sectin 5.1). 4. Dwnlad the infrared cnfiguratin t the IntesisBx pushing n the Dwnlad IR parameters. NOTE: Check the current cnnectin t the IntesisBx. Ntice that in rder t send the Infrared cnfiguratin, yu can use the standard KNX cnnectin (the same used t prgram the device) r a USB cnnectin. USB cnnectin is faster than KNX cnnectin. Ntice that this is nly available fr the infrared cnfiguratin settings. 5. Prceed with the rest f AC unit settings and ther parameters. 6. Prceed with the KNX prgramming. 7. Dwnlad the prgramming t the interface as any ther KNX device. IntesisBx KNX IR Universal AC 5 ETS Parameters and Cnfiguratin The IntesisBx IS-IR-KNX-1i interface is cnfigured thrugh ETS. General KNX parameters, such as the physical address, grup addresses r DPTs can be cnfigured as usual using the ETS interface. Fr the specific AC unit cnfiguratin and IR cmmunicatin, the use f the specific plugin included in the ETS database is required. ETS database fr this device can be dwnladed frm: https://www.intesisbx.cm/intesis/prduct/media/is-ir-knx-1i_ets_database.zip Please cnsult the README.txt file, lcated inside the dwnladed zip file, t find instructins n hw t install the database. Once the database is imprted, the plugin can be accessed when editing parameters. T get access t parameters editin, click n the Parameter tab, lcated in the prject screen, and then press the specific parameter dialg. Figure 5.1 ETS Prject managing and plugin screen Remember that befre start using the IntesisBx interface alng with the AC unit, yu need t set up at least the brand and type f yu AC unit. (i.e. In a rm with AC in cl mde and 25ºC setpint temperature, a +2ºC delta is applied after the ccupancy timeut, setting the setpint at 27ºC because there is n ccupancy in the rm. If the setpint is raised t 29ºC during that perid, when the rm is ccupied again, a -2ºC delta will be applied and the final setpint temperature will then be 27ºC). If set t n nthing will be applied. There are tw pssible ptins t cnfigure the cntact type: NO: Nrmally Open and NC: Nrmally Clsed. 5.11.3 Debunce time This parameter lets chse a debunce time (in millisecnds) that will be applied t the cntact. 5.11.4 Disabling functin This parameter shws/hides the Cntrl_ Disable Input x cmmunicatin bject which will let disable/enable the input x. If set t n any bject will be shwn. When DPT 1.003: 0-Disable; 1-Enable is selected, the input can be disabled using the value 0 and enabled using the value 1.
