2 Reality Check 1 - Read Over Fence Instructions First Your gate and fence will work better together as an integrated solution if you first take the time to read and understand your fence instructions. Especially pay attention to the principles of anchor installation. 2 - Do a Dry Run First on the Gate Frame Only (not pickets or boards) Please do not glue or screw your gate frame together until you have first temporarily assembled the gate. In other words, do a dry run first. This will ensure three things: a) That you have everything necessary to complete the gate. b) That you will have assembled the gate in the correct order. c) ll the pieces fit and function properly. It s easier to trouble shoot when things are not glued and screwed together. fter you assemble your gate correctly, please disassemble as necessary and use glue and screws to permanently assemble the gate. 3 - Ideally, Install Your Gate nchors efore Your Fence nchors Your fence panels will be more forgiving for a custom fit than your gate. Ideally, position and install your gate anchors before you do anything else, or very early on in the process of setting up your fence run. Install Your Gate nchors efore Installing Your Fence nchors. 3 4 - Ideally, Do Not Hang Your Gate System Off a Single Non-Supported Post. Your gate will perform better and last longer if your hinge post is connected to a panel of fence which is connected to another post. The weight strain will be transferred unto two posts versus just one. Installing fence panels on both sides of your gate is the ideal in all situations. If this is not possible because of space restrictions, please contact us for alternative solutions to overcome. Do Not Hang Gate on Lone Soldier Post. 5 - Use Only Large nchors for ll Gate and Hinge Posts. Regardless of your gate style choice, please use only large anchors for all gate hinge and latch posts. 8 Detailed Installation Instructions STEP 1 Excavate & Install Gate Jig, nchors, & Fence Posts Metal post stabilizer to be used only on hinge post 5 1/2in. Dig a Trench 60in. long x 6in. wide x 5.5in. deep ottom of trench should be level. Temporarily place the anchor positioner into the metal post stabilizer and determine position. - Identify the location of the metal post stabilizer and pound flush into the ground C - Identify location of your gate D C - Place vinyl gate jig over the metal post stabilizer E Pegs on the bottom of this anchor positioner will insert into both vinyl gate jig and post stabilizer. D - Place anchor positioners into gate jig F See fence instructions if necessary for more information on how to install anchors, adjust leveling donuts and install vinyl posts. E - Pound your anchors into place G F - ackfill excavated dirt over gate jig G - IMPORTNT: Make sure to fasten the fence panels EFORE attaching the gate 7

9 STEP 2 ssemble the Gate Frame ottom & Sides Handle with care: vinyl weld glue takes approximately five minutes to cure. GLUE Completely assembled gate shown Did you do a dry run of assembly first? Please read page 1 of instructions. - Run bead of vinyl weld continously around the inside of the gate bracket Note that the bottom rail is Ribbed internally. - Insert the bottom rail until it bottoms out inside gate bracket C D GLUE GLUE C - Insert the bottom rail until it bottoms out D - Insert vertical gate stiles. 10 STEP 3 ssemble the Gate Frame Top & ttach to Sides Did you do a dry run of assembly first? Please read page 1 of instructions. 15 STEP 8 Position, djust & lign Gate/Secure Hinges to Posts - Use temporary spacers or blocks to rest the gate on during alignment and installation - Fasten hinges to posts with screws For installation videos and more information, visit 14

16 STEP 9 Level Gate & djust Hinges LEVEL - Fasten gate hinges accordingly C djust the spring tension in gates as necessary. Use steel insert pin. D - Check for level, fit and function to latching post C - Hinges can be adjusted moderately to bring gate into level alignment with post Latch is designed for left and right hand applications. Temporarily remove the spring, bolt and reverse paddle portion as necessary. 15

17 E How to Set the Tension on Your Gate Hinge F E - Insert small steel pin into one of the holes on hinge and rotate tensioner tool to release tension on the gate hinge to remove pin. F - Remove pin and place in forward hole to increase tension, & reverse hole to decrease tension. How do I stop my gate posts from rotating? - Use two Tek screws provided to secure the gate posts to the anchor pipe. This will prevent the gate posts from ever rotating in the event of very high winds, etc. For installation videos and more information,visit 16

18 STEP 10 lign & Install Latch - lign and fasten the gate latch catch to fit and function with the gate finger. Congratulations! You did it! 19 Sidewalk/Path FROM PGE 1 If sidewalk is less than 52 inches, then use the gate jig as a temporary spacer: C D E Side Walk/Path F G H Trim bottom plate of anchor positioner if it interferes with sidewalk as necessary. 20 Sidewalk/Path OPTION ONE - Drill Directly Through Concrete If sidewalk is wider than 52, you may consider drilling directly through it. C Use vinyl gate jig to mark holes for drilling. Use a 1 5/8in. concrete drill bit, extension if needed, and a concrete hammer drill. Drill both pre-marked holes completely through concrete.
