4 WELD MOUNT fastening system The fastener that sticks: the WELD MOUNT system The WELD MOUNT system is a unique combination of fasteners and adhesives that enables virtually any material to be fastened without the need for any welding, drilling, riveting or tapping. The system comprises wire tie mounts, hose and cable clamps, floating nut plates as well as other fasteners. Every element can be affixed vertically or overhead using the innovative adhesives. The AT-2010 and AT-8040 adhesives reach their high tensile strength in a mere 20 to 30 minutes. 5 WELD MOUNT fastening system Benefits of the WELD MOUNT system Installation process Benefits for composite materials No drilling of composites: this eliminates the risk of moisture penetrating the core. No spacers required during installation: less weight and lower production costs as a result. No inadvertent drilling damage: no expensive repairs or delays as a result. Neat and clean installation: ideal for subsequent changes or additions. Can also be used in places that are very awkward to reach for personnel or with tools. Insert the 2-component cartridge into the PM 207 dispensing gun and attach the Köratool mixing tip. Benefits for metal and industrial applications WELD MOUNT offers significant advantages compared to welding: No prep work, no checking, and no waiting around for permits. Lower production costs. No safety inspections or fire safety regulations. No noxious vapours or gas ventilation issues unlike with welding. No warpage, no discolouration of components and consequ ently no costs for subsequent grinding, polishing or pickling. WELD MOUNT offers significant advantages compared to drilling and tapping: Handling: no need to install magnetic drilling equipment in awkward locations or on overhead surfaces. Time savings: drilling and tapping into hard substrates is both labour-intensive and time-consuming. Safety: drilling and tapping into tanks or cladding can result in leakages. Reduced costs: WELD MOUNT lowers the cost of tools and consumables. All tensile and shear strength data were calculated under pre-determined test conditions and are therefore for reference purposes only. Please contact our application consultants for all questions concerning specific applications. Clean the surface and the WELD MOUNT fastener using Scotchbrite and a solvent-based cleaner. Apply a small amount of adhesive to the underside of the WELD MOUNT fastener. Press the fastener firmly onto the substrate until the adhesive oozes out to the side. Dash panels, consoles, electrical panels, and anchoring cushion clamps are just some of the most popular applications. The diameter of the base plate is sized to the anticipated loads. As with the threaded studs, these standoffs can also be bonded to the top or underside, in this case together with a cap. The rubber fixture holds the floating nut plate in place while it is being affixed with acrylic adhesive and protects the thread during the installation process. 11 WELD MOUNT adhesives AT-2010 acrylic adhesive AT-2010 is a specially formulated acrylic adhesive that cures in just 6 minutes and reaches 75% of its working strength after minutes. It is ideally suited for bonding metals, plastics and composite materials. The AT-2010 has a shelf life of 6 months when stored at room temperature, or 12 months when refrigerated. It is supplied in a 50 ml dual cartridge and can be applied using a Köratool PM 207 dispensing gun and the matching Köratool mixing tip. Art. No Consumption: Art. A cartouche 50 ml AT-2010 ca. st. The adhesive cures in 12 minutes and reaches 75% of its working strength after minutes. It is suitable for most metals as well as thermoplastics and duroplastics. AT-8040 is applied using our Köratool PM 207 dispensing gun and the Köratool mixing tip. The adhesive has a shelf life of 6 months when stored at room temperature, or 12 months when refrigerated.
