1 Antenna Support Bracket for transmission line The Antenna Support Bracket angle mounts directly to a 4-1/2" (114 mm) OD antenna pipe mount or tower leg. This is ideal for supporting transmission line runs close to the antenna and for positioning the line to begin a vertical run. The Bracket attaches to angle sizes from 2-1/2" (64 mm) x 2-1/2" (64 mm) to 4"(102) x 4"(102) and may mount on either leg of the angle. To use cushion hangers, B1757 (p. 6.01) will convert the 3/4" (19 mm) diameter hole to enable the use of 3/8" diameter hardware. Galvanized. Installation Examples Transmission line runs can be clamped directly to a round tower leg or diagonal, as shown (Fig. A), by using two clamp heads back-to back. The clamp heads must be bolted together (Fig. B) before installing either the Hanger or the adjustable Clamp. Threaded rod standoffs may be used to extend the transmission line away from obstructions, for either angle-leg towers (Fig. C) or pipe-leg towers. 5 Heavy Duty Welded Coax Support Ladder with Angle Rail and Rungs The Coax Support Ladder, in lengths of 5' (1.524 m), 10' (3.048 m), and 20' (6.096 m), is provided in welded sections, that include 2-1/2" (64 mm) x 2-1/2" (64 mm) x 1/4" (6 mm) angle rails, angle rungs, and hardware for tower attachment. The maximum span between tower attachments is 20' (6.096 m) Two hardware mounting kits are provided with the 20' (6.096 m) ladder, and one hardware mounting kit is provided with the 10' (3.048 m) ladder and the 5' (1.524 m) ladder. Each hardware mounting kit includes two brackets and hardware to attach the ladder to the tower. There are two ladder widths available, 3' 1-1/2" (953 mm) for 12 runs of coax and 3' 10-1/2" (1.181 m) for 15 runs of coax. The rung spacing is 3' 4" (1.016 m) and has 3/4" (19 mm) holes for Snap-In Hangers and 7/16" (11 mm) holes for Hangers or Butterfly Hangers to support coax transmission line up to 2-1/4" diameter. Each ladder section is furnished with splices to interconnect with the next section. The ladder for round tower members attaches to an 1-1/2" (38 mm) to 4-1/2" (1.231 m) OD round tower girt or diagonal with included brackets and hardware. The ladder for angle tower members attaches to a 5" (127 mm) maximum, girt or diagonal, with included J-bolts and backing plates. An optional J-bolt can be ordered when the angle tower member exceeds 5" (127 mm). J-bolt part number B2335 (p ) will accommodate angle tower members from 5" (127 mm) to 7" (178 mm) in width. When the Ladder extends to ground level below the lowest girt, a Ladder Base Kit is required to support the ladder at ground level. 6 Bolt-Together Coax Support Ladder with Angle Rail and Rungs Coax Support Ladders are available in three lengths, 5' (1.524 m), 10' (3.048 m) and 20' (6.096 m), and are available in factory assembled or field assembled sections. Each ladder section is constructed of angle rungs bolted to 1-3/4" (44 mm) x 1-3/4 (44 mm) angle rails and includes the hardware for tower attachment. The maximum span between tower attachments is 10' (3.048 m). Two hardware mounting kits are provided with the 20' (6.096 m) ladder and one hardware mounting kit is provided with the 10' (3.048 m) ladder and the 5' (1.524 m) ladder. Each mounting hardware kit includes two brackets and hardware to attach the ladder to the tower. The ladder is available in two widths, 2' 8-1/4" (819 mm) for 12 runs of coax and 3' 3-3/4" (1.010 m) for 15 runs of coax. 8 Lightweight Support Rail Lengths of B240 or B251 can be joined together with B252 Splices to fabricate a lightweight vertical transmission line support. One side of the is used to attach Hangers at desired intervals using Spring Nuts and 3/8" hardware. The other side attaches to the tower using various methods, depending on the tower construction. The recommended maximum span between tower attachment points is 20 feet (6.096 m), based on a loading of 20 lb ( Nm) per lineal foot. Transmission line runs of this type should be installed near a climbing ladder or tower leg since the support rail itself offers no footing for workers installing the linesupport components. Rails are 1-5/8" (41 mm) square, 12-gauge (3 mm) galvanized steel that is spot welded back-to-back. When used for horizontal transmission line support, the top Rail slot is used for attachment to Pipe Heads with 1/2" hardware and 1/2" Spring Nuts (B262). The lower Rail slot is used to attach transmission line with 3/8" hardware and 3/8" Spring Nuts (B174). 9 Lightweight Support Ladder with Vertical support ladders for self-supporting towers can be fabricated using standard products, as shown. Ladders are 3' 4" (1.016 m) wide and are attached to the face of the tower. The recommended maximum span is 20' (6.096 m) between tower attachment points. This is based on a loading of 40 pounds (54.233Nm) per lineal foot resulting from a 100 mph (161 km/h) wind load on seven 1-1/2" (30 mm) elliptical waveguide runs. Cross Pieces, for either Hangers or Snap-In Hangers, are attached at desired intervals to one side of s using 3/8" Bolts and Spring Nuts (p ). The other side of the s attach to the tower with 1/2" hardware. Exact methods of attachment depend on the type of tower construction. Lengths of the rail are joined together with B252 Splices. Attaching hardware for the Rail and Cross Pieces is ordered separately. 10 Cross Piece for Support Ladder Cross Piece ladder rungs are available to support either Hangers or Snap-in Hangers. The B291, fabricated from 1-5/8" (41 mm) square rail, enables the attachment of eleven Hangers using 3/8" Spring Nuts (p ) and hardware. Multiple transmission line runs can be supported in each Hanger, depending on the line size. The B1647, fabricated from angle steel, provides sixteen 3/4" (19 mm) holes for installing Snap-in Hangers. The hole spacing of 2-1/2" (64 mm) on-centers allows 16 runs of up to 1-5/8" coax to mounted on each Cross Piece. Both Cross Pieces are 3' 4" (1.016 m) long and are hotdip galvanized steel. Adjustable Clamping Bar The Adjustable Clamping Bar is used to support vertical transmission-line runs and to terminate horizontal bridges on the face of angle leg towers.
