5 Machine Tool Elements and Workholding Devices Sectional Committee, PED 2 FOREWORD This ndian Standard ( First Revision ) was zdopted by the Bureau of ndian Standards on 4 August 1989 after the draft finalized by the Machine Tool Elements and Workholding Devices Sectional Ccamittoe, had been approved by the Production Engineering Division Council. This standard was first issued in n order to modify the dimensions, based on the experience gaited in this field for so many years, this stacdard has been taken up for revision. While revising this standard, each type of clanping screw bas been split into two, based on the use of either srap ring or cylindrical pin. Figures have accordingly been modified. Dimensions have been rationalized. Finish and marking clauses have been included. While formulating this standard considerable assistance has been taken from the data supplied by the users of the product and DN Grub screws with thrust point, issued by Deutsche nstitute fiir Normung.

13 Standard Mark The use of the Standard Mark is governed by the provisions of the Bureau of ndian Standards Act, 2986 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder. The Standard Mark on products covered by an ndian Standard conveys the assurance that they have been produced to comply with the requirements of that standard under a well defined system of inspection, testing and quality control which is devised and supervised by BS and operated ~by the producer. Standard marked products are also continuously checked by BS for conformity to that standard as a further safeguard. Details of conditions under which a licence for the use of the Standard Mark may be granted to manufacturers or producers may be obtained from the Bureau of ndian Standards.
