Alexander McCall Smith Edinburgh is also great for fantasy, folklore, and social justice Largely in- tact medieval core gives it a fairy tale feel that is unlike any other UK city The proud capital of a country- within- a- country, a complicated relationship with social- justice implications The complex layering of bloody- real history and astonishing mythos makes it a great place to end a program like this one A UNESCO City of Literature (one of only five in the world) Edinburgh is alive with words.

25 Eligibility Requirements At least first- year standing in college by the time of departure Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher (if close, contact instructor before applying) FTS, first Three Crowns, or equivalent first- year writing course completed before departure Familiarity with the Harry Potter books is recommended but not required
