2 vipsensor VIP series with Measurement principle The mechanical travel to be measured is transferred without contact to the via an aluminum sleeve. 4 vipsensor LVP series with measuring plunger Measurement principle vipsensors in the LVP Series operate according to a novel, inductive measurement principle. The mechanical displacement is transferred via a moving plunger, without contact, to the. The sensor contains a segmented coil which is supplied with alternating current. The plunger position influences the impedance of the coil segment. The partial voltages of the individual segments are tapped off and added in an amplifier. A linear output signal is obtained dependent on the plunger position. The non-contact measuring principle ensures a long service life. Exact concentric guidance of the plunger in the sensor rod is not necessary. The decisive advantage is a substantially improved ratio between the measurement range and the overall sensor length. This means that the sensors can be optimally integrated even in tight restricted spaces.
