6 Comprehensive FACILITIES We offer a comprehensive array of capabilities and facilities, covering more than 7,300 square meters, to support the design, development, production and testing of advanced electronic subsystems and equipment. Design & Development Our design capabilities include printed circuit development and mechanical design, based on all required mechanical, thermal and radiation analysis tools, plus advanced CAD systems. Manufacturing & Testing Thales Alenia Space España deploys all required spacequalified processes, technologies and facilities for the production of flight-standard equipment, including two clean rooms spanning 1,650 square meters. An optical detection laboratory is available for the assembly, integration and test (AIT) activities of equipment and detection electronics for optical payloads and subsystems. All environmental tests are performed in a facility equipped with EMC, thermal-vacuum and vibration test systems. Computer-controlled test benches are used intensively throughout the test sequence. Focus on quality and the environment Our employees ensure strict quality checks at all stages of development, manufacturing and delivery, in compliance with ISO 9001, EN 9100 and AQAP We are also certified to ISO for our environmental management system and with the Capability, Maturity Model Integration (CMMi) level 3.
