Radiofrequency equipment S and X-band TTC transponders and transceivers Spread spectrum transponders for inter-spacecraft proximity links, inter-satellite data relay links and navigation constellations UHF to X-band transmitters and receivers L, S and X-band RF units for telecom repeaters Passive microwave devices C, X, Ku, and Ka-band input multiplexers (IMUX) for telecom payloads Filters, diplexers and other passive devices from S to Ka-band Microwave assemblies: RF distribution units and networks (RFDU, RFDN), waveguide interface units (WIU) Digital electronics On-board data handling units for platform and payload interface and control: remote terminal units (RTU), payload interface units (PLIU), instrument control units (ICU), etc. Mechanism control electronics: antenna pointing mechanism electronics (APME), solar array drive electronics (SADE), SAR antenna deployment control units (DCU), calibration mechanism electronics (MECALIB), etc. Detection & video electronics for optical instruments: video control units (VCU), focal plane proximity board electronics (FPPB) Clock management, control and distribution units (CMCU, CDU) for navigation and science payloads Data processing units Regenerative on-board processors (OBP) for telecom applications Data processing units (DPU) for optical observation payloads R&D, the key to success The development of new technologies at Thales Alenia Space España is not only a challenge, but also an essential factor in our competitiveness. 6 Comprehensive FACILITIES We offer a comprehensive array of capabilities and facilities, covering more than 7,300 square meters, to support the design, development, production and testing of advanced electronic subsystems and equipment. Design & Development Our design capabilities include printed circuit development and mechanical design, based on all required mechanical, thermal and radiation analysis tools, plus advanced CAD systems. Manufacturing & Testing Thales Alenia Space España deploys all required spacequalified processes, technologies and facilities for the production of flight-standard equipment, including two clean rooms spanning 1,650 square meters. An optical detection laboratory is available for the assembly, integration and test (AIT) activities of equipment and detection electronics for optical payloads and subsystems. All environmental tests are performed in a facility equipped with EMC, thermal-vacuum and vibration test systems. Computer-controlled test benches are used intensively throughout the test sequence. Focus on quality and the environment Our employees ensure strict quality checks at all stages of development, manufacturing and delivery, in compliance with ISO 9001, EN 9100 and AQAP We are also certified to ISO for our environmental management system and with the Capability, Maturity Model Integration (CMMi) level 3.
