In this plant tripping relays for the residual current circuit breakers and electronic components are produced. 4 Tripping Relays range AR PIN Relay Type Overview The SCHUPA Tripping Relays of the ranges AR PIN 50 and AR PIN 200 are high sensitive polarized holding relays with lowest nominal power. They are able to work starting from approximately 30 VA with the AR 50 P and from approximately 100 VA with the AR 200 P. The most remarkable features of the SCHUPA Relays are their extremely constant tripping performance, stability under different climatic conditions as well as their high operational life quality. The SCHUPA Tripping Relay ranges AR 50 P and AR 200 P are new ranges of relays. Their basic construction and function is based on the existing successful relay ranges AR 50 and AR 200. The important differences are a new shape of the housing and custom-specified fixing-possibilities. The impedance Z results from the geometrical addition of the ohm resistance and the inductive reactance of the relay coil. The respective fastening heights of the relay holders P1 and P2 are indicated in our data sheet reference number Besides the described types from the standard range, also solutions according to customers demands with special tailor made technical data can be realized. Magnetization process In general the SCHUPA Tripping Relays are supplied in a pre-magnetized condition. This can be done to the magnetic maximum or to a certain value according to our customers demands. In practice it proves to be useful to receive the Tripping Relays magnetized to the maximum. In the final setting of the complete devices, the demanded operating point can be fixed by a down magnetizing of the system without any problem. Generally the Tripping Relays of the ranges AR PIN 50 and AR PIN 200 can be magnetized in the same appliance. 2

5 Tripping Relays range AR PIN Insertion of a Tripping Relay To ensure the described characteristics of the Tripping Relays, the mounting position and the fixing in the device have an extraordinary importance. By no means the relay should be fixed to the latching mechanism in a rigid way. For the restoring force of the tripping ram we recommend the maximum forces specified in the technical data sheets, while the smallest possible speed of the resetting force is to be aimed at. The influence of external electromagnetic fields can be minimized by using screening plates. Delivery and packaging To obtain a perfect mechanical protection, the Tripping Relays are packed in blister-packages of 64 pieces, outer cardboard packages of 896 pieces. The low nominal power of our relays AR PIN 50 allows the use of cheaper core materials, respectively the geometric measures of the core can be reduced significantly which enable you to build smaller devices. The savings of costs for core materials can result into rates up to 50%. Using relays AR PIN 50 in already existing constructions allows the reduction of necessary primary windings which are of benefit to the temperature rise of the devices. 3

7 Tripping Relays range AR PIN Quality Control Constant and regular tests and quality controls during the production process as well as a 100% final test do guarantee the extraordinary high constancy and quality of our Tripping Relays. For all Tripping Relays it is determined already during their development which technological tests accompanying the series production have to be accomplished. The specifications refer to: Testing of function Constancy of the magnetic field Compliance with the electrical and physical characteristics guaranteed in our data sheets Thermal constancy Life endurance tests Security checks Daily random samples Special tests Approvals The realization is dependent on the kind of test. In case it might be necessary, also external labs are authorized. In the running production the self examination of the production staff and the continuous process capability are supervised by suitable, regular spot checks. In the area of final testing the tests are executed by special trained staff and, largely staff-independent, due to automated processes. The continuous supervision of the process and the staff are guaranteed by our quality department.
