All photos must be submitted at the same time; our workflow doesn t allow for add-ons 2. Photos must be un-mounted, not torn, bent, or brittle 3. It is the customer s responsibility to make sure there are no fragile photos included. We are not responsible for damage caused to old or fragile original by our stack scanner 4. Photos must be no smaller than 2.5 x3.5, larger than 8 x10, or have anything raised or sticky on either surface 5. Photos must be removed from sleeves, envelopes, and albums 6. If you want to keep photos in groups, you may want to put an index card at the beginning of each group with some information and we ll scan it right along with the photos. 7. Orient photos in the direction you would like to view them. We do not rotate the files after we have scanned them (with the exception of 8x10 originals) 8. Photos that do not meet the above criteria will be hand-scanned at the standard scanning priced based on the quantity of images that way. Shoebox scan technical Specifications: Shoebox scanning is based on 300 dots per inch. This is adequate for making good print copies the same size or up to twice the size of the original photo. Files are saved as individual JPG files on a CD or DVD depending on the quantity of originals. These may or may not play on a DVD player but will always be readable in a computer DVD drive. Shoebox scans may have visible surface dust. For best results, wipe photos with a soft cloth front AND back before submitting them. If dust is an issue, consider our hand-scanning option which includes removal of 90% of visible dust. 13
