1 1 UPK Series - Precision Integrating Spheres with Synthetic Coating In cases where a high precision spherical form and precise alignment of sphere ports is critical, machined integrating spheres are a better choice than spheres formed out of aluminum sheets. In particular if precise port alignment is a requirement as in all kinds of transmittance, reflectance and absorbance measurements precise machined integrating spheres should be considered. In smaller diameter spheres the diffuse reflection of the sphere coating is important to produce a uniform light distribution inside the sphere. Our synthetic OD- M98 coating offers almost perfect diffuse reflection. Stock Model UPK-50-F for Reflection and Transmission Measurement Applications. Two different port arrangements are offered: UPK L type spheres are designed for the measurement of directional emitting light sources. A knife-edge measurement port opening offers a large acceptance angle for diverging light sources. Special baffle designs prevent any direct or first reflection illumination of the detector. UKP F type spheres are designed for flexible use in measurement of reflectance (8 /D), transmittance and power. The knife-edge design of the measurement port ensures that any diffuse reflected or transmitted light enters the sphere. The back side ports allow 8 sample illumination. To measure diffuse reflection, the -8 port can be opened so that directional glow radiation can pass out. Light traps are offered to absorb the light output of the 8 port. The back-side central port permits the separation of diffuse and directional transmitted light. An additional substitution port may help to reduce the substitution error during calibration and measurement. The back-side and substitution ports are supplied with coated port plugs. The 30mm diameter integrating sphere with 5mm diameter measurement port offers high light throughput required in light sensitive applications within the spectral range from 250nm to 2500nm. Its unique collar baffle design greatly avoids direct illumination of the detector port from the light input port in a conventional 90 port position sphere design. The baffle also makes it possible to operate up to 4 detectors or fiber light guide connectors on the sphere at the same time. 4 4 UPK-30S60-L and UPK-30S60-TT - Stretch Integrating Sphere for Side Emitting Fibers Integrating sphere models UPK-30S60-L feature a unique stretched design specially made for the measurement of side emitting fibers up to 40mm long. Elongation of the coated sphere from 30mm diameter to a length of 60mm eliminates the need for a large diameter sphere. Its unique collar baffle design avoids direct illumination of the detector by the side emitting fiber. The detector port provides an interface for direct mounting of Gigahertz-Optik s PD-11, TD-11 and VL-11 type light detectors and UFC-11 type fiber light guide connectors.
