5 Perform a test in just 4 easy steps STEP 1 - Position Sample 1 Position sample material on the self-leveling or universal vise. No need to worry about sample orientation. The T-BAR rotation tool allows you to orient the stage pattern at any angle. STEP 2 - Set Stage Pattern 2 Load a predefined stage pattern or define a new one with a few simple mouse clicks. Position stage to the sample starting point and set the origin. You can set up to 36 samples or traverses of any number of indents. 5 STEP 3 - Run Sequence 3 Launch the test by clicking on the run icon. The system intelligently follows the predefined pattern and focuses automatically when needed. Indents are measured instantaneously and data generated dynamically. STEP 4 - Report 4 Review statistical results in graphical and/or tabular format. Export results to the spreadsheet application of your choice or simply print standard or customized reports.

7 Feature Highlights (automatic) Extract Accurate Results Using a PAL format camera, you will get an image resolution of 756 x 576 pixels- that's 42% more resolution than a generally used RS-170/NTSC format camera. With this resolution, indents can accurately be measured according to the ASTM E-384 standard using absolute calibration - unlike subjective calibration methods used by other systems. The graph to the left demonstrates a run that shows a ± 2.4 HV variation for 25 consecutive measures on the same indent, with auto-focus for each measure.

8 Feature Highlights (automatic) Comply With Standards ISO and other standards compliance measures are simplified with built in validation functions. By indenting and measuring various certified test blocks prior to an actual analysis routine you can eliminate the potential for errors and inefficiencies. Predetermined validation intervals can be established to periodically ensure that the system meets standards. 8 Precise Indents Made Easy With the use of the reference circle, you can indent at a precise distance from the sample edge. All it takes is to define the diameter of a circle, position it from the edge and create a stage pattern. Diagonals can subsequently be measured accurately using sophisticated built-in image analysis functions.

9 Multiple Conversion Tables You can easily set-up the system to measure Knoop or Vickers impressions according to standard industry hardness scales including Rockwell A, B, and C. In addition, up to six user-defined conversion tables are also available. As for case depth, calculations can be extracted automatically by selecting the case hardness value. A few mouse clicks will enable you to save, copy, or paste your patterns to predefined locations. The T-BAR rotation tool allows you to rotate your pattern at any angle to accommodate sample tilt or to ensure perpendicularity to an edge. 11 Instantaneous Data Review Following an automated run, individual indents can be tracked by clicking on the numbered impression. Intelligent software accurately remembers where the impression was made and automatically moves the stage to the chosen indent. You can choose to not include or re-measure the impression manually with the movable gridlines. When excluded or re-measured, statistics are updated on the fly. 11!
