Initial thoughts When I first viewed the work by Claude Monet, I thought that... Created by mixing two primary colours together. Created by mixing a primary and secondary colour together. Practical considerations Communication of intentions Responses to sources critical reflection The artist must have had access to first hand meetings with the subject, as I do not feel they would have been able to capture such emotion through only seeing photographs. I intend to use what I have found out about Damien Hurst, to explore my own ideas of conceptual art as I would like to show through my art the current issue of global warming The image I have taken is slightly distorted, which I think makes it feel eery and surreal. I do not think that my first attempt at using watercolours was very successful because the colours ran into each other without meaning to.

Practise drawing tonal ladders but by using marks. Place objects in front of you and draw them as accurately as possible. Use grid method if drawing from a photograph. Practise mixing colours from primary colours only. Mix secondary and tertiary colours, as well as mixing tones and tints. Draw a grid over the image and a grid on your page which is either identical in size or scaled up eg if your original grid squares are 1cm x 1cm, your scaled version could be 2cm x 2cm.
