Supplies: 3x5 frame, small brush for miniature painting, Acrylic paints. Thursday, May 29 (Class 1) and Thursday, June 5 (Class 2) Denim Jeans Purse/Pillow Donna Self Don't throw away those out-grown children's jeans - make a purse, or a pillow for their room out of them. Great decorating touch for those teens! Supplies: Child's denim jeans or shorts, sewing machine, sewing supplies, and embellishments for jeans.

3 Saturdays, May 31(Class 1) and June 7 (Class 2) Knitting (House slippers child or adult) Stella Taft Start now for Christmas presents and keep those tootsies warm on those cool floors! Supplies: 2 skeins worsted weight yarn (may be 1 skein of 2 different colors as yarn will be double stranded), pair of size 9 knitting needles, large blunt needle to sew slippers together. This amount of yarn will make 2 pair of slippers. Tuesday, June 3(Class 1) and Tuesday, June 10 (Class 2) Pounded Posies Helen Keene and Doris Rawlings Note: Meeting Place Washington Park Covered shelter by Children's play area. It's hard to believe that these beautiful "paintings" are really the results of taking out your frustrations on flowers! Make framed artwork or fabric items. Earplugs might be advisable, too! It gets noisy!!! Supplies: Fresh cut flowers (pansies work well), hammer, watercolor paper or white fabric, board to pound on, waxed paper, and black ballpoint pen. Tuesday, June 10 Decorative Small Gourds Karen Camp and Nancy Rigsby No, they're not light bulbs - they're cute little dried gourds! Decorate them any way you like - some for every holiday! Adorable!!!

4 Supplies: Acrylic paints, small brushes, lightweight wire. Thursday, June 12 and Tuesday, August 19 Make -A-Thon for Basket of Hope 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Kristin Jorgensen Bring lunch or go out to lunch and come back for afternoon session. There will be a special sign in sheet for time signed in and time signed out to verify that for each 2 hours spent working on any project one class credit will be awarded. This is a great way to earn class credits and provides a much needed community service for the Basket of Hope program. You will not be able to take your things home, but we will be taking pictures and will have a photographic display at the spring lunch instead of a displayed craft. You do not have to actually make something but we will need help cutting out patterns, pinning, ironing, etc. LABEL ALL SUPPLIES WITH YOUR NAME!!! Bring (if you have): Sewing machine and/or serger, scissors, thread (light colors), pins, material (baby fabrics), sewing/knitting/crocheting patterns for preemie babies and small stuffed animals - new or used (with all the pieces) are welcome (JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby periodically put Simplicity and McCalls on sale for $.99). Also, you may make a full matching layette if you would like (see collection list and patterns for preemies ). Anyone may donate items and supplies for this program anytime before June 12 and leave them in basket in the coat room or call Kristin at to pick up. Tuesday, June 17 (Class1) and June 24 (Class 2) Painting in the Park Helen Keene and Doris Rawlings Note: Meeting Place Washington Park Botanical Garden We can draw or paint either inside or outside the building. Great flowers, scenery are everywhere. There is a large parking lot off Fayette Ave.

5 Supplies: Canvas, water color paper, sketch book, paints (your choice), water container (if needed), pencils, erasers, camera, folding chair. Friday, June 20 Basket Class 9:00 A.M. Gina Davis Note: Cost varies, depending on which basket you choose. Contact Gina for pricing. Now's your chance to make your own market basket, planter or magazine basket - the uses for baskets are endless. And you can brag that you made it yourself! Supplies: Bring yourself - all supplies will be furnished! Wednesdays, June 25 (Class 1), July 23 (Class 2), and August 27 (Class 3) Log Cabin Quilt Laverda Wenzel and Elena Bee Make a lap (49" x 67") or twin (67"x 85") Learn how to make one of the most popular patterns in quilting - the Log Cabin. You can finish in time to give it to that favorite person in your life for Christmas or for a wedding present to that child getting married. Of course, you can always keep it for yourself

6 Supplies: Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, rotary cutter, mat and 24" ruler, Postit notes, pencil, and low-loft batting. For fabric requirements contact Laverda or Elena. Thursday, June 26 Marbled Wood Jill Cain It's hard to believe that this beautiful marble piece is - WOOD! Learn the technique and make all kinds of "marble" pieces. Supplies: Wood piece, Acrylic paints (Dark color for background and coordinating metallics for marbling), high-gloss sealer, sponge brush, Isopropyl alcohol, eyedropper, natural sea sponge. THIS CLASS HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE TO BE DETERMINED. SORRY. Wednesday, July 10 (Class 1), Thursday July 17 (Class 2), and Thursday July 24 (Class 3) Mosaic Plaque Donna Self Use square glass tiles to design beautiful trays, plaques and other pieces for function or art. Donna will show you how!

Friday, July 11 Birdhouse Makeover Using Stucco Lorraine Hayes Got an old birdhouse hanging around your trees? Spruce it up with new stucco siding and trims. Or get them a brand new one Do a whole subdivision for your yard. Your birds will love it! Supplies: Birdhouse (old or new), your favorite paint colors for roof and trim, your favorite paint brushes, tweezers, and several old plastic bowls. Tuesday, July 15 (Class 1) and Wednesday, July 16 (Class 2) Seat Belt Purse Jill Cain Note: Deadline for ordering webbing is June 13th. Seat belts??? Absolutely - just don't use them to keep you in your seat! But take it with you everywhere.

8 Supplies: Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, ½ yard lining fabric, stapler, and piece of 2" thick foam. Tuesday, July 22 Paper Bag album Cost: $1.00 Ann Twyford New twist on a brag book! Fun project that will have you taking more photos just to fill them up! And the kids can make their own to give to the other grandma! Supplies: 3 or 4 paper (lunch size) bags, Elmer's Glue, ¼" ribbon, scrapbooking, colored or wrapping paper, scissors. Wednesday, July 30 Wire Wall Bud Vase Note: 6:00 PM Carol Edwards Make it country, formal, flamboyant, whatever. This frame hangs on the wall so the cat doesn't try to eat the flower in the vase! Supplies: Wooden picture frame (can be any style, even weathered or crackle-painted, fluted shooter vase, mini bud vase or small "Mason" jar (depending on size of frame - keep in proportion), aluminum wire with

9 ½" pattern (chicken wire style), 14" of 24-guage wire, one yard ribbon, staple gun and ¼" staples, marker, ruler, safety glasses, scissors, and wire cutter. Saturday, August 2 Photo Cut-up 10:00 A.M. Carol Edwards You can use this for scrapbooking, or put it in a frame, or as a starting point in a shadow box featuring that special person. Supplies: Photo (person, flowers, scenery), 2 coordinating printed papers, white and black cardstock, metal "message" charms, 4 brads, dimensional glue dots (foam double-sided glue), paper adhesive, ruler, paper trimmer or scissors, picture frame, if desired. Tuesday August 5 Large Folded Boxes Sue Moyer Make your own fabulous gift boxes! Square or rectangle - make it fit the gift. Use up those bits of fancy paper. The recipients won't want to toss this box out with the trash! Supplies: Wrapping paper, brown package mailing paper, ruler or yardstick, scissors. Tuesday August 5 (Class 1) and Friday, August 8 (Class 2)

10 Concrete Leaf Fee: $10.00 Donna Mudra A great accent for your garden or right in front of the house. Or mount it on a column and have a great bird bath or feeder! Some supplies provided. Supplies to bring: Large leaf (Rhubarb, Gunnera or "sun surface" Hosta, or Kahl), large container (that you can pick up) to hold sand and concrete, roll of plastic wrap, bucket or mixing tray for concrete, scrub brush to remove dried leaf, paint brush, plastic or rubber gloves. Thursdays, August 7 (Class 1) and August 21 (Class 2) Summer Ceramics Cost: Depends on piece selected. Lucille Gibson and Carol Edwards Always misplacing your ring? Make a ring holder! Wednesday, August 20 Indian Embroidery Cari Carlson This is a great way to cover that stain on your favorite shirt! Beautify any shirt or jacket with this unique embroidery technique! Templates provided. Supplies: Tee shirt (washed), embroidery floss to compliment, blunt tapestry needle.
