1 ANNEXURE 'A' I. SPECIFICATIONS FOR LAMINATED HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE CIRCULAR BAGS (MILKY WHITE WITH BLUE TONE FINISH) WOVEN ON CIRCULAR LOOMS FOR PACKING UREA/DAP/ AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE SULPHATE / NPK & AMMONIUM SULPHATE FERTILIZERS. 1.0 GENERAL The bags shall be made from a single piece of milky white with Blue Tone finish laminated HDPE Circular fabric woven on circular looms having Construction 10 x 10 tapes per sq. inch (4 ends/cm. and4 picks/cm). The fabric shall be woven from monoaxially oriented HDPE tapes having 1000 denier +10% / - 5% (111 Tex) and width 2.5 mm minimum. The maximum elongation of tapes shall be 25 per cent and minimum shall be 17 per cent for both warpwise and weftwise. I.0 The capacity of the bag shall be to hold 50 kgs. of either Urea,DAP / APS / NPK or A.S. 2.0 Size 2.1 The size (inside dimensions) of the bag from innermost row of the stitches to the outer edge of the bag shall be as under : Tolerance (mm) a) HDPE Urea bag 36" x 24" (915 mm x 610 mm) Length + 20, -10 Width + 20, -10 b) HDPE DAP/APS / NPK bag 36" x 22" (915 mm x 560 mm) Length + 20, -10 Width + 20, -10 c) HDPE A.S. bag 30" x 24" (762 mm x 610 mm) Length + 20, - 10 Width + 20, Construction of HDPE Fabric woven on circular looms. 3.1 The unlaminated fabric shall be of width 22" / 24" minimum and 10 x 10 tapes per inch (4 ends/cm. and 4 picks/cm) of construction and shall be free from all major weaving defects like pick points, missing tapes etc. and it shall be free from biasness also. 3.2 The HDPE Granules shall be of Raffia Grade E of Reliance Industries/ equivalent & LDPE of lamination grade 24FS040 / 1070 LA 17 of M/sRIL /. equivalent. 1

2 3.3 Master Batch : You shall add master batch during manufacturing of the bags such that the % of Calcium Carbonate if tested of the bags supplied as per standard test procedure shall be 2.5 +/- 0.5% (2 to 3%) and in case the % of Calcium Carbonate is found more than this, then the lot shall be at sole discretion of GSFC and if we decide to reject the lot, then you shall replace the same. Bags shall be Milky White with Blue Tone finish. 3.4 The Ends and pick will have the following tolerance : Ends/cm. = 4.0 +/- 0.2 Picks/cm. = 4.0 +/- 0.2 i.e. 10 x 10 tapes per sq. inch +/- 1/2 3.5 Test Certificate : You shall submit Material Certificate on your letter head in triplicate in following format along with each consignment, indicating invoice no and date We hereby certify that the HDPE & LDPE Granules used in manufacturing of bags are purchased and used as per GSFC specifications and that we have added master batch during manufacturing of bags supplied to GSFC vide lot no. such that the % of Calcium Carbonate if tested of bags supplied as per standard test procedure shall be 2.5 +/- 0.5% ( 2 3%). 4.0 Lamination : 4.1 The Circular Woven Fabric shall be laminated on outer side with virgin low density polyethylene film on a lamination plant. The laminated film should overlap and seal each other at side crease and should be kept minimum 8 mm extra after triming. The lamination shall be free from pin holes, porosity, patches, tears, poor lamination, blisters or any other visible defects. 4.2 The thickness of lamination shall be 100 gauge (25 microns) with a tolerance of +/- 10 per cent. 2

3 4.3 The lamination shall cover the entire inside area of the fabric used in the bag and in case of circular woven, laminated fabric shall be reversed prior to stitching of the bag so that the lamination will be on the inner side of the bag. 5.0 Stitching : 5.1 The stitching of the bag shall be of two rows of Chain stitches with a HDPE Tape of 1000 denier minimum in milky white colour or any other yarn suitable for stitching of the bags without deviating the bottom seam strength. 5.2 The number of stitches shall be 12 +/- 2 per decimeter. The stitching shall be uniform, without any loose threads and knots. 5.3 The bottom side of the bag shall be double folded over outside min. 1" (25 mm ) and stitching should pass through all the six layers of the fabric. 5.4 The distance of about 5 mm shall be maintained between two rows of stitches while outer row should be about 8 mm from the outer edge of the bag. 6.0 Breaking Load : The breaking load of the fabric shall be as under : Warp wise (length wise) = 69 kgf. Min. Weft wise (width wise) = 87 kgf. Min. The breaking load of the seam shall be as under : Bottom Seam = 32 kgf. Min. The specified strength values for fabric and seam shall be the average breaking load value of sample under test. Individual value shall however not be below 10% ( Ten per cent) of the specified value. Fabric strength testing to be done on 5 x 20 cm test coupons by revelled - strip method at a constant rate of traverse machine with traverse rate of 300 +/- 15 mm per min. and applicable test method would be as per IS , IS

4 7.0 Weight 7.1 The weight of the individual bags shall be as follows : Weight (gms)/bag. UREA (36" x 24") 130 +/- 3% DAP/APS/NPK (36" x 22") 121 +/- 3% A.S. ( 30" x 24") 110 +/- 3% 7.2 The net weight of the truss of 500 bags shall be as under : Weight of truss of 500 bags UREA (36" x 24") kgs. +3% / -0% DAP/APS/NPK (36" x 22") 60.5 kgs. +3% / -0% A.S. (30" x 24") kgs +3% / -0% No further tolerance on weight on any count will be admissible. 8.0 Mouth of the bags : The mouth of the bags shall be selvedged, hemmed or heat cut so that the tapes do not fray. The mouth of the bag shall be completely open. 9.0 Branding : 9.1 The bags shall be branded in single/two colours and as per the artwork/ colour scheme specified by the Company from time to time. The printing shall be done on the opposite side of bottom folding of the bag. 9.2 The ink used shall give smudge free, indeliable, clean marking, and resistant to Ultra Violet rays. The branding by Flexo-printing is preferable. 9.3 Shade of branding shall be uniform and shall have to be matched as per the company's discretion. 4

5 Ref:PT/FPM/HDPE/Tend/ Approved art work of respective bags / latest sample bag for printing matter if not available at your end shall be supplied later on, on written request. 9.5 The colour shade details for Urea /DAP/ APS / NPK / AS is as per enclosed Annexure-I PRINTING OF MONTH & YEAR ON BAGS TO BE SUPPLIED AT HO Baroda and for SIKKA UNIT. It is mandatory to print month & year on the left side bottom corner of bag as below : a) Bags which are supplied upto 20 th of a particular month shall be printed with that particular month, e.g. bags being supplied upto 20 th of May 09 shall bear printing of May. i.e. bags shall bear printing as Mfg.- May 09. b) Bags being supplied after 20 th of a particular month shall be printed with the ensuing month i.e. the month which is falling next to the actual month in which you are supplying e.g. bags to be supplied after 20 th of May 09 shall bear the print Mfg - June 09. 5

In case of Urea bag, only one colour printing is to be done. In case of change in logo or printing requirement, the same will be incorporated as per the Company's requirement without any extra cost. Your printing on bag should be legible and letters should not get mixed up otherwise we may not accept the lot supplied by you. You shall procure the tape tested ink for the printing purpose from our approved ink manufacturer only. Please ensure that colour and colouring system should be exactly as per our requirement only.
