1 No title 1 / 12 Serviette-Holders, Bowls and Doilies2 Materials: These are very easy to make. The Instructions have many photographs, to make it easy to follow :) These Instructions are for the Serviette-Holders, Bowls and Doilies. I stitched mine on Crushed Silk and love the result. You can of course use Poly-cotton. Wing-Needle is also included in all these Designs. You may use a regular needle if you prefer. The result will be a little different but still lovely. I use Pins to hold Fabric in place. Always place the pins away from the stitching area. All items for the 5 x 7 inch Hoop/130mm x 180mm Polycotton fabric or Crushed Silk - I used Crushed Silk and just love the result! Matching Fabric for the Lining Thin Batting Optional - Wing-Needle - please read instructions Marathon Threads as per colour-chart or own choice Method Serviette-Holder: 2 Centre Pieces stitched together to form Centre Square 4 Side pieces 4Corners 1.Hoop 1 layer of Cut-Away Stabilizer. Pins for holding Fabric and Batting in place 1 layer of Cut-Away Stabilizer Sharp-pointed Embroidery Scissors 5inch x 7inch Hoop

2 No title 2 / mm x 180mm Hoop 2.Stitch the outline of the pattern piece onto the stabilizer. 3.Cut a piece of thin Batting a little larger than the outline on the Stabilizer. Put the Batting on the Stabilizer, covering the outline. Next, cut a piece of Fabric the same size as the Batting. Place this Fabric on top of the Batting and pin in place. Place the pins away from the stitching area.

3 No title 3 / 12 4.Stitch out the outline of the design onto the Fabric. Continue with the design using the Colour Chart. 5.The Machine will stop for the Lining. This stitching is done in White. Turn the Hoop over so that the underside of the work faces you. Cut another piece of fabric of the same kind as you used on top and again it must be larger than the design. Place Pins right round. Please see photo.

4 No title 4 / Now stitch the Lining in place. When this is done, use your sharp-pointed Embroidery Scissors and cut the Lining Fabric back to the stitching line. Turn the Hoop over to the right side and cut the Batting and Fabric back to the stitching-line.

5 No title 5 / Now put the hoop back in the machine. The machine will stitch first a Tack-down stitch and then go onto doing an edging Satin Stitch as well as other decorative stitches where applicable. All this stitching is done in White. 8. The machine will stop and this is when you do the Wing- Needle. Fit your Wing-Needle. The thread is still white. Do the Wing-Needle stitching. Please Note:You may of course use your regular needle to complete the design instead of the wing-needle if you prefer. 9. Stitch out 2 Centre pieces the same way. There is no embroidery design or wing-needle on these 2 centre pieces. Set aside. When all the pieces for that particular design are stitched out, cut them away carefully from the Stabilizer. To Complete Stitch the pieces together on your sewing-machine using a zigzag stitch and matching thread for the spool and bobbin. Please look at the Photos: 1. Lay all the Serviette-Holder pieces out as shown.

6 No title 6 / Stitch the Side Pieces and Corner Pieces together with your sewing-machine, using zig-zag stitch. Take the 2 Centre Pieces and zig-zag together.this forms the Centre Square. Set aside. Please Note: The Centre Piece shown here was done for the 6x10 inch hoop - however, the procedure is exactly the same for the 5x7inch hoop. Take the 5x7 Centre Piece (2 pieces stitched together) and carry on as per instructions

7 No title 7 / Select the Centre piece and stitch. 4. Fold each Corner diagonally and stitch part of the way

8 No title 8 / 12 down. 5. Complete and ready to use. Bowl 4 Side Pieces 1 Square Base 1. Select all the pieces needed and stitch together as shown. 2.

9 No title 9 / 12 Stitch all the side pieces together. 3. Select the Centre piece and stitch in the middle. Work your way round and close the remaining seam.

10 No title 10 / Stitch the slits and stitch closed. This gives the "bowl" like shaping.
