1 There are 3 colour variations of the blanket. In the pattern I will give you the colour numbers to which you will have to change. The sequence will always be pink (Rose Scent) / blue (Sea Breeze) / green (Morning Dew). But you can always choose your own colours if you wish! Are you ready for some crochet? To make another pair of rows. At the end of this week you ll have a fair sized blanket on your lap! We ll start again with The Wave, with a 199 stitches on the row. Row 78 Ch3. *Skip 1 st and make 1tr in the next 3 stitches. Yo, and place the hook before the 3tr in the stitch you just skipped. Yo, and pull it back to position to finish your tr. Finish the treble.** Repeat from * to ** until the last 2 stitches. Make 1 tr in the next st and leave the last. On the last step of the final st change colour to 1005/1203/1710. Turn. Here are a few pictures. For more be sure to check row 38. Row 79 Ch3 (counts as 1tr) Skip st at base of 3ch. 1tr into each st to end. You now have 198 stitches. Row 80 Ch2 (counts as 1htr) 1htr into st at base of 2ch. 1htr into each st to end and on the final step of the last st change colour to 1080/1034/1081. Now you have your 199 stitches again that you need for the next row.
2 Row 81 Ch1 (does not count as a st) 1dc into st at base of 1ch. 1dc into each st to end and on the final step of the last st change colour to 1130/1019/1064. Turn. Row 82 We re back on the granny stripes! For pictures, look to row 4, 5 and 6. Ch 3 (counts as 1tr), 1 tr in the st at base of 3ch. Skip 2 st. *3 tr into the next st and skip 2 st**. Repeat from * to ** to end. On the final step of the last st change colour to 1218/1722/1420. Turn. Row 83 Ch 3 in the first stitch. *3 tr in ch sp and repeat to end. In the last st of the row (the 3 rd ch of the 3-chain stitch) make 1 tr and on the final step change back to colour 1130/1019/1064. Turn.
3 Row 84 In the first stitch ch 3 and 1 tr. *3 tr in ch sp and repeat to end. In the last st of the row (the 3 rd ch of the 3-chain stitch) make 2 tr and on the final step change to colour 1080/1034/1081. Turn. Row 85 Ch 1 (does not count as a st). 1 dc into st at base of 1 ch. 1 dc into each st to end. On the final step of the last stitch change to colour 1005/1203/1710. Turn. Row 86 Ch2 (counts as 1htr). Skip st at base of 2 ch. 1htr into each st to end. Turn. Row 87 Ch 3 (counts as 1tr). 1 tr into st at base of 3ch. (We have now increased with 1 stitch.) 1tr into each st to end and change colour to 1123/1725/1114on the final step of the last st. (200 tr) Turn. Row 88 Now it s up the Iris stitch again. Maybe not the most enjoyable stitch for some, but I love it! Because it has the tendency to pull on your work, you might want to change to a bigger hook size. Or you could crochet a bit looser than usual. Chain 3, pick up a loop through the 2 nd chain stitch from your hook, and leave it on the hook. Do the same in the 3 rd chain stitch from your hook. You now should have 3 loops on your hook. Now pick up a loop through the first stitch of the row (the stitch at base of the 3 ch st). Now you have 4 loops on the hook. Do the same for the 2 nd and 3 rd stitch of the row. (6 loops on the hook). Now finish the stitch by pulling the yarn through all 6 loops. It should resemble a circle. In that circle we ll begin the next eye. * You put your needle in the little hole that appeared. Yarn over and pull the yarn through. Pick up the next loop through the last stitch of the previous eye (not through a stitch of the last row). The 3 rd loop you should pick up through the last stitch of the last row which you used for the previous eye. You should now have 4 loops on your hook. Loops 5 & 6 you get by
4 using the next 2 stitches of the row. Finish the stitch by pulling the yarn through all the 6 loops.** Repeat from * to ** to the last stitch of the row. Make 1 htr. Turn. I put in some pictures because this Iris stitch is in a different colour. For more pictures be sure to check row 18. Row 89 Chain 2. Make 1 htr in the centre of the 1 st eye. Make 2 htr in the centre of all the next eyes to the last stitch of the row. Make 1 htr in the 2 nd ch st of the 3ch st and change to colour 1005/1203/1710.
5 Row 90 Change back to your regular hook size. Ch 3 (counts as 1 tr). Skip stitch at base of 3ch. 1 tr into each st to end. Turn. If all is well you should have 200 stitches. Row 91 Ch 2 (counts as 1 htr). Skip st at base of 2ch. 1 htr into each st to end and on the final step of the last st change colour to 1080/1034/1081. Turn. Row 92 Ch 1 (does not count as a st) 1dc into st at base of 1 ch. 1 dc into each st to end and change colour to 1065/1316/1027. Turn. Row 93 Ch4 (counts as 1dtr) Skip st at base of 4ch. 1dtr into each st to end and on the final step of the last st change colour to 1080/1034/1081. Turn. Row 94 Ch 1 (does not count as a st) 1dc into st at base of 1 ch. 1 dc into each st to end and change colour to 1005/1203/1710. Turn. Row 95 Ch 2 (counts as 1 htr). Skip st at base of 2ch. 1 htr into each st to end. Turn. Row 96 Ch3 (counts as 1tr) Skip st at base of 3ch. 1 tr into each st to end. On the final step of the last st change colour to 1240/1724/1020. Do you still have 200 stitches? OK then!
6 Alright, week 5 is finished. Like I told you at the beginning of this week, you should have a fair sized blanket on you lap already. Nice, isn t it? Enjoy your hobby, enjoy the crochet. Until next week!!
Row 67 We will continue with colour 2017/2019/2010. Ch 1. (does not count as a stitch). 1 dc in the first stitch and in all the others to the end.
And all of a sudden we are in week 4 of this Cal! It s going fast, isn t it! After our squares of last week we ll be crocheting a little further on the blanket itself. Are you in the mood? Get yourself
