Cuff: With size 4 double-pointed needles and mc, cast on 60 sts. Distrubute sts evenly among 3 needles. There will be 20 sts on each needle. Join knitting, being careful not to twist work. Begin to k in the rounds COUNTER- CLOCKWISE. *k2, p2 repeat * until cuff measures one inch or desired length. Leg: K in the round COUNTER-CLOCKWISE Making the Eyelets: Change to size 6 needles Rd1: k3, sl-1, k1, psso * k4, sl-1,k1, psso; repeat from * to last, k1 you will have 50 sts. Rd2: k3, yo, * k5, yo; repeat from * to last two sts, k2. Rd3: k to end of rds (k to yo sts from the previous rd as a normal st. You now have 60 sts again) Follow Snowball BobbleChart: Follow Snowball Bobble Chart rows 1-6 Make snowball bobbles as follows: K into the front, back, front and back of the same st.

Follow Checkerboard Chart row 1-4 Knitting the Name Band: Rows 1-9 k with mc (for name placement) Follow Checkerboard Chart Again Follow Holly Chart Follow Snowflake Chart rows 1-17 Follow Santa Chart rows 1-20 Divide for Heel Flap: Note:You can knit your heel flap shorter if you like. It s about 21/2 to 3 inches. You will have less sts to pickup along the heel flap. Adjust accordingly or follow my pattern. K across 20 sts on NEEDLE ONE and k 10 sts off of NEEDLE TWO onto NEEDLE ONE for heel flap. You now have 30 sts on NEEDLE ONE. Divide the remaining 30 sts onto NEEDLES TWO & THREE. You will have 15sts on NEEDLES TWO & THREE and 30 sts on NEEDLE ONE. TURN: (w/s ) Working back and forth across 30 sts of heel flap as follows: Row 1: sl-1, p across TURN. Row 2: *sl-1,k-1, *repeat between* across. Repeat these two rows for 30 rows total. Turning Heel: Row 1: With mc, p17, p2tog, p1. Turn. 10 sts remain on needle. Row 2: sl1, k5, k2tog, k1. Turn. 10 sts remain on needle. Row 3: sl1, p6, p2tog, p1. Turn. Row 4: sl1, k7, k2tog, k1. Turn. Row 5: sl1, p8, p2tog, p1. Turn. Row 6: sl1, k9, k2tog, k1. Turn. Row 7: sl1, p10, p2tog, p1. Turn. 4 KnittingLeft.com copyright Gusset: Continue to work COUNTER-CLOCKWISE with needle holding the 18 heel sts. PU and k17 sts along side of heel with same needle holding the heel sts. Combine the instep sts from the next two needles onto one needle and k across 30 sts of instep. With loose needle, PU and k17 sts down the other side of heel. Using the same needle that you pu the 17 sts, K9 sts to the middle onto same needle. THIS WILL BE THE CENTER OF THE BACK OF THE HEEL. You will have a total of 82 sts in all. Note: Mark middle of row with plastic marker. Move plastic marker as you work. The center of the heel is the beginning of the rounds. Shape Gusset: Using MC: Row 1: k Row 2: k to within 3 sts of the end of the NEEDLE ONE, k2tog, k1, k across NEEDLE TWO (no decs. This is the instep sts). Row 3: NEEDLE THREE, k1, ssk. Repeat rows 1, 2, and 3 until you re back to your original 60 sts. Foot: Follow Snowball Bobble Chart rows 1-6 Follow Checkerboard Chart row 1-4 With MC, k14 rows. Follow Checkerboard Chart row 1-4 Toe Shaping: Using MC: k1 round Begin decreasing as follows: Round 1: On NEEDLE ONE: k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. On NEEDLE TWO: k1,ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. On NEEDLE THREE: k1, ssk, k to end (center of heel). Round 2: k. Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until there are 12 sts left(3 sts on NEEDLES ONE & THREE, and 6 sts on NEEDLE TWO). Continuing to knit with NEEDLE THREE, k to the end of NEEDLE ONE. There are now only 2 needles in use, 6 on each. Cut the yarn, leaving 18. Thread it onto a Tapestry Needle. Refer to diagrams.

5 KnittingLeft.com copyright KITCHENER STITCH: See Diagrams Hold the 2 needles parallel. You will now have a front needle and a back needle. Always keep the yarn beneath the needle as you work. 1. Go into the first st on the front needle as if to k, pull the stitch off the needle. 2. Go into to second st on the front needle as if to purl, leave st on the needle. 3. Go into the first st on the back needle as if to purl, pull the st off the needle. 4. Go into the second st on the back needle as if to k, leave the st on the needle. Now you have 4 new stitches to work with. Repeat steps 1-4 until all sts are woven. Anchor on inside, weave in ends. I-Chord: Cast on 3 sts using double pointed needles. Knit, don't turn. Slip the sts back to the beginning of the needle and k the row again. Continue until the cord is the length you desire (about 18 inches). Thread the yarn through the sts and pull firmly. Ornament Mittens: Use US size 4 double-pointed needles. With green yarn, cast on 20 sts onto one needle. Join sts and k2, p2 for one inch. Join with white yarn. K 7 rounds in stockinette st. Row 8: *k2tog, k2 *rep between astericks to the end of the round. (14 sts remain) Row 9: k2tog all around. 7 sts remain. Break yarn and use tapestry needle to run through small circle. Turn mitten inside out and sew in ends. Duplicate Stitch: See Diagram Duplicate Stitch 1, 2, 3, & 4
