The Committee should realize that moving from ASCE 7-05 to 7-10 has significant implications, both for NFPA 501 and NFPA 225. The wind loads chapter(s) of 7-10 are quite different than in 7-05, and significant effort must be devoted to updating Sec of NFPA 501. Moreover, all the pier designs and pier spacing tables in NFPA 225 must be recalculated if ASCE 7-10 is referenced there as well.
