3 GROUNDING AND BONDING NETWORK Grounding and Bonding System The grounding network in any building is responsible for directing electricity, static noise and built up charges to an outside discharge away from people and equipment. The grounding products featured here are designed around the ANSI-J-STD-607-B, Commercial Building Grounding (Earthing) and Bonding requirements for telecommunications. This standard specifies the requirements for a uniform telecommunications grounding and bonding infrastructure that shall be followed within commercial buildings where telecommunications equipment will be installed. According to the ANSI-J-STD-607-B Standard*, TBB Conductor size is directly related to the length of ground wire run. See the chart below for selecting the appropriate AWG size of wire. 4 GROUNDING AND BONDING NETWORK Service Entry The service entry location houses the last destination within the building before an electrical current leaves the building. The Telecommunications Main Grounding Busbar (TMGB) connects the external grounding rod to Telecommunications Bonding Backbone (TBB) located throughout the building. Telecommunications Room The grounding products in this section focus grounding noise that travels along cables. These rooms are located throughout the building, there can be multiple rooms per floor in many different sizes. Data Center The grounding and bonding network in these rooms will ground the active equipment to the infrastructure. There is a significant need for grounding in this room to prevent equipment failure and increase overall equipment performance. P4

5 SERVICE ENTRANCE GROUNDING Flexibility Ground wire connectors allow for building and expanding the grounding system. Quality Telecommunication Main Grounding Busbar (TMGB) connects the backbone pathways to the earth ground rod. The service entrance is where the unwanted electrical charge leaves the structure. 18 GROUNDING ACCESSORIES AND TOOLS PENETROX A PENETROX A consists of a natural based vehicle in which zinc particles are suspended for aluminum-to-aluminum, aluminum-tocopper applications. HGBP8A PENETROX E PENETROX E consists of a natural based vehicle in which copper particles are suspended for copper-to-copper applications. HGBPENE8 Crimp Tool Mechanical rotating crimp tool for aluminum lugs and splices from #8-4/0 AWG aluminum and copper conductors. Dies are integrated in the tool head and are rotated to the appropriate lug size. HMRC840 Compression Tool Kit Mechanical tool kit is a basic tool for crimping terminals ranging from 8 AWG to 4/0 AWG. Adjusting for the size of terminal is done my rotating a dial located on the tool head. HMY2911 Torque Wrench Torque wrench incorporates an easy-to-read scale measured in inch pounds (in-lb) that can be easily matched to the recommended torque of each of our mechanical connector products.
