3 Speakers Patricia Shaughnessy Patricia Shaughnessy directs the Master of International Commercial Arbitration Law Program (LLM) at Stockholm University and teaches and researches in related fields. She chairs the Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Section of the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law and is the Vice-Chair of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). Patricia has acted as an arbitrator and expert, and as a consultant, she has led projects related to commercial law and dispute resolution in many countries. Hans Corell Hans Corell was the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and the Legal Counsel of the United Nations from March 1994 to March From 1962 to 1972, he served in the Swedish judiciary. In 1972, he joined the Ministry of Justice. In 1981, he was appointed Chief Legal Officer of the Ministry. He was Ambassador and Under-Secretary for Legal and Consular Affairs in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 1984 to Since his retirement from public service in 2004 he is engaged in many different activities in the legal field, inter alia as legal adviser, lecturer, and member of different boards. He is involved in the work of the International Bar Association and the Stockholm Center for International Law and Justice. Duarte Henriques Duarte Henriques is a lawyer and arbitrator based in Lisbon - Portugal, and partner at BCH Lawyers. Since 1990, he acts both as counsel and arbitrator in several litigation and arbitrations cases related to investment disputes, banking & finance, corporate, commercial and construction disputes. He serves as sole arbitrator, chair or member of tribunals in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, and as counsel in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, both institutional and ad hoc. Duarte Henriques advises major banking and finance institutions, insurance companies, construction companies, and technology / software solution providers in litigation and arbitration disputes. He is a member of the ICC Task force of Financial Institutions and International Arbitration and a member of the Task force on Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration of ICCA & Queen Mary University.

4 James Hope James Hope is a partner and Head of Vinge s dispute resolution group in Stockholm. He is a dual-qualified Swedish Advokat and English Solicitor- Advocate, with over 20 years experience of dispute resolution, including 10 years experience from practising in London. He acts both as counsel and as arbitrator in international arbitrations, both in Sweden and abroad, and his recent cases have involved Swedish, English, Californian, Chinese, Russian, Italian and Finnish laws, amongst others. He is a guest lecturer at Stockholm, Uppsala and Edinburgh Universities. He is also a member of the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Robin Oldenstam Robin Oldenstam specializes in arbitration and civil litigation and is the head of Mannheimer Swartling s International Arbitration Practice. He is also the current Swedish member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. Between Robin was chairing the Swedish Arbitration Association (the SAA), which is the leading association for arbitration practitioners in Sweden. Robin is primarily active in the field of international arbitration and has acted as counsel in numerous arbitrations under the ICC, the SCC, UNCITRAL, ICDR, Swiss Rules and other rules as well as in ad hoc proceedings. His experience encompasses disputes in a wide range of areas and industries including (amongst other) oil & gas, M&A, licensing, sale of goods, construction and finance. Alison Tibell Alison Tibell works as Legal Counsel at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute. Previously Alison has worked in litigation and dispute resolution for one of Australia s leading law firms, Clayton Utz for 6 years, and as in-house counsel at the Australian National University. Alison holds a Law degree (hons) and Arts degree (history and music) from the Australian National University, as well as a Master Degree in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University.

5 Brian Kotick Brian is a US-qualified lawyer, barred in New York and California, employed as a Senior Associate at Mannheimer Swartling in Stockholm. He has worked in the firm s Dispute Resolution group for 5 years, focusing exclusively on international commercial and investment arbitration. Brian is also a visiting lecturer at Stockholm University in Oral Advocacy and often coaches moot court teams on oral advocacy skills and techniques.
