1 Speaker Biographies Carol Bergeron President, Bergeron Associates Carol is a human resources and organizational performance consultant, trainer and coach. He is also the president of Sentinel Pension Advisors, Inc. During his 20 year career, he has negotiated and integrated five businesses to grow Sentinel and in January 2007, he negotiated the sale of Sentinel to Focus Financial Partners where he retains management control over the Sentinel enterprise and an ownership interest in both Focus Financial Partners and Sentinel Management Company, LLC. John graduated cum laude with a B.A. from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME in He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School in He serves on several boards including his high school alma mater, St. John s Preparatory School in Danvers, MA. 2 Kurt Czarnowski Regional Communications Director Kurt Czarnowski is the Regional Communications Director for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in New England, a position he has held since December He began his career with SSA in 1976 as a claims representative in the Framingham, Massachusetts District Office and, since that time, has worked in several different management and staff positions in the Boston area. A native New Englander, Czarnowski received a Bachelor's degree in History from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University. He currently lives in Norfolk, Massachusetts with his wife, Anne. As Regional Communications Director, Czarnowski is responsible for coordinating the Social Security Administration s public affairs/public information activities in the six New England states. This past January, he was the featured presenter on Social Security: What You Need to Know, the Social Security Administration s national webinar for financial service professionals. Robert M. DiMase Executive Vice President, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group President, Sentinel Insurance Agency, Inc. Rob DiMase is the Executive Vice President of Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group and President of Sentinel Insurance Agency, Inc. As a 17 year industry veteran, Rob specializes in the design, implementation, communication and administration of all types of employee benefits plans. Rob began his career as an account executive with Great West Life Assurance and Annuity Company where he was responsible for marketing fully insured and self funded Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance; Flexible Spending Account programs and 401(k) plans. He joined Sentinel Benefits as a sales representative in In 1998 he became a partner in the organization. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a concentration in Marketing from Boston College. He is a Board member of the Massachusetts Association of Health Underwriters and an active member on Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Harvard Pilgrim broker advisory boards. Rob holds FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 securities licenses. He is also a licensed Life & Health insurance agent. Michael Keleher General Counsel, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group Michael Keleher has been a member of the Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group legal team since As General Counsel, he is the legal advisor to executive management and responsible for all legal matters relating to Sentinel s business, including support of sales and strategic partnerships, employment matters, intellectual property matters and corporate compliance programs. Michael is also Chief Compliance Officer of Sentinel Securities and Sentinel Advisors. Before joining Sentinel, Michael worked in the Holy Family Hospital accounting department in Methuen, MA. He earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting from Merrimack College, a Master s in Business Administration from New Hampshire College, and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. Michael holds FINRA Series 7 and 24 securities licenses.

3 Elizabeth Maglione, QKA Client Relationship Manager Liz has worked in the employee benefit plans business since 2006, assisting companies of varying sizes and across many industries. She has extensive knowledge of qualified retirement plans specifically in the areas of administration and ongoing operational maintenance. Liz began her career at Sentinel Benefits as a Client Service Representative where she was the primary contact to more then 250 of Sentinel s retirement plan clients. In this role, Liz was responsible for the daily operational functions and administration of the retirement plans. She took on the role of Client Relationship Manager in Before entering into the employee benefits administration field, Liz was a Student at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Liz received a Bachelor Degree in Science and Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Bryant. Liz is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). She holds the professional credentials of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA). Joshua Meltzer Executive Vice President, Compliance, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group President, Sentinel Securities, Inc. Joshua Meltzer has been in the benefits administration, compliance, and investment business since 1983 when he worked as a consultant to North American Life (now merged into Manulife Financial) to develop its popular Venture Variable Annuity. He has also worked with several large institutions including: Massachusetts Mutual Life as a Pension Specialist, Manager of an Investment Centre for Liberty Mutual, a Pension Specialist at Union Central Life, and a registered representative with Raymond James. Josh most recently served as the President of International Advisors, Inc., a full service benefits consulting company, before its merger with Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group in Joshua has the following educational background and certifications: American College in Bryn Mawr, PA Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC). 4 Stephen E. Meltzer, Esq. Meltzer Law Offices Stephen concentrates his practice in two general areas, business law and real estate development law. Mr. Meltzer is certified as an information privacy professional by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). For his business clients, he assists in the full life cycle of non profit, traditional and high technology ventures including privacy regulation and compliance, choice of entity and formation decisions, tax exempt status, partnership, capitalization and financing, contracting, licensing and intellectual property matters, and the resolution of business disputes and other challenges. For his real estate development clients he focuses on real estate development, affordable housing, permitting, land use and zoning matters, as well as the corporate, partnership and other business issues inherent in the business of development. Mr. Meltzer is the founder and executive director of the Land Conservation and Advocacy Trust, Inc., a start up non profit organization with a mission to conserve and preserve open spaces and natural resources by providing immediate response and emergency funding and legal assistance for advocacy and acquisition. In addition, Mr. Meltzer is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the New England School of Law where he has taught Legal Research and Writing, and Internet Law and Practice. Mr. Meltzer is a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Framingham and the Board of the Michael Lisnow Respite Center in Hopkinton. He has also served as President of the Board of the Dismas House of Massachusetts, as a Mock Trial Coach in the Worcester Middle Schools and as a Human Rights Committee Member for Charles River Health Management. Mr. Meltzer is a graduate of Brandeis University and New England School of Law (magna cum laude). He was the lead articles editor of the New England Law Review. Adam C. Pozek, ERPA, QPA, QPFC Vice President, Consulting Services, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group Adam Pozek is the Vice President of Consulting Services for Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group. He has worked in the employee benefits field since 1990 and has assisted companies from a variety of industries and ranging in size from 2 to 30,000 employees. Adam works with business owners, executives and their other professional advisors to design benefit programs to meet a variety of needs including employee retention and recruitment, tax and retirement planning and business succession planning. He assists companies in assessing benefit programs as part of mergers, acquisitions and other similar business transactions. In addition, he works with clients to address plan errors under the IRS and Department of Labor correction programs. He is actively involved with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) where he serves on the national board of directors and government affairs committee. He is a pastpresident of the ASPPA Benefits Council of Atlanta and the current president of the ASPPA Benefits Council of New England. As a nationally recognized author and presenter, Adam has been published in the Journal of Financial Services Professionals, The Journal of Pension Benefits and The ASPPA Journal. He has spoken on retirement plan topics for organizations such as WEB, the AICPA, NASBA and ASPPA. He has provided testimony to the ERISA Advisory Council and has co authored several regulatory comment letters and proposals to the Treasury Department and Congress. Adam holds the professional credentials of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) from ASPPA as well as Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) from the American

Deirdre Savage Senior Director of Federal and National Relations, Blue Cross Blue Shield MA (BCBSMA) Directs and manages BCBSMA s relationship with industry/business leaders and policy makers in the federal government and at the national level. Directs the education of BCBSMA s organization, customers and the public at large concerning federal legislation and policy, as well as developments at the national level, that are likely to affect the company s business initiatives, the health insurance needs of Massachusetts residents and the Massachusetts health care marketplace Ensures company compliance with federal government policies and regulations and direct regulatory support for filings and initiatives at the federal level. Facilitates resolution of consumer inquiries or complaints received via government officials or agencies Represents and manages relationships with BCBSA, AHIP and other national health care interest and advocacy groups. Deirdre has a strong background in federal relations and policy development. Prior to joining BCBSMA, Deirdre served as General Counsel & Executive Director of Public Policy for over five years with The New England Council. In this capacity, Deirdre oversaw all of the Council s public policy initiatives and developed strategies to represent the Council and its diverse membership on issues before Congress and the Administration. Prior to her tenure at the New England Council, Deirdre practiced law in Boston for three years after graduating from Northeastern University School of Law. Throughout college at The George Washington University, Deirdre worked for Senator Edward M. Kennedy in both his personal office and the Committee on Labor and Human Resources. Brendan Sullivan Vice President, Sales, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group As the Vice President of Sales, Brendan is responsible for driving Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group s growth and profitability. In this role, he is accountable for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, distribution and channel strategy. Brendan joined Sentinel in 2008 and has previously served as Vice President, Client Service. Brendan has more than fourteen years of progressive financial services experience, specializing in the design and administration of employee benefits plans. He has a broad base of mutual fund and operations experience servicing institutional clients in the small, medium, and large market. Prior to joining Sentinel, Brendan held a variety of leadership roles at Fidelity Investments. Most recently he served as the Director, Client Services Management where he was responsible for leading a team dedicated to overall client satisfaction in the not for profit market. Brendan graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts, Economics.

6 Kate van Colen, ERPA, QPA, QKA Relationship Manager, Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group Kate van Colen has worked with employee benefit plans since 2002, assisting companies of varying sizes and across many industries. She has extensive experience with all aspects of qualified retirement plans from design and implementation to ongoing administration and termination. Kate works with all types of retirement programs including 401(k) Plans, Defined Benefit Pension Plans and Employee Stock Ownership Plans as well as executive compensation arrangements. Prior to assuming the role of Relationship Manager, Kate managed Sentinel s office in Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to working with more than 300 clients, Kate s responsibilities also included peer review, training and development for the office s 8 other pension professionals. Before entering the employee benefits field on a full time basis, Kate was the practice manager for a local law firm. Kate is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and the ASPPA Benefits Council of New England (ABCNE). She is the co chair of the East Coast Relius User Group and is a member of both UMass and Johnson & Wales alumni associations. Kate holds the professional credentials of Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA), Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA), and Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), one of the highest credentials awarded by ASPPA to non actuaries. Kate received her B.A. in Economics from UMass, Dartmouth and her MBA from Johnson & Wales University.
