1 ARIZONA HISTORICAL SOCIETY 949 East Second Street Library and Archives Tucson, AZ (520) MS 1330 Reid & Hazard Architectural Drawings DESCRIPTION This collection consists of a series of architectural drawings, for both public buildings and private structures, created by the Reid & Hazard architectural firm between the years of 1949 and The drawings have been arranged by commission number which also corresponds chronologically. Of particular note are plans of various public buildings, such as Flowing Wells school district, Valley National Bank buildings, Pasqua Yaqui Village, church and housing, Humane Society of Tucson, polar bear exhibit at Reid Park Zoo, and the University of Arizona s Environmental Research Center. Significant private structures include additions for the homes of James Douglas, and George Chambers. 4 Boxes, 8 linear ft. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE William P. Hazard came to Tucson, Arizona in 1942 and was licensed as an architect in He worked with Scholer, Sakellar and Faller, then later with Terry Atkinson. In 1959 he formed a partnership with Robert R. Reid, and moved his architectural firm to 137 Washington Street. Hazard worked as an architect in Tucson for over 50 years, designing many public and private buildings during his career.
