Hruby to approve the agenda was on vote unanimously adopted. 3. Approval of Minutes After changing the location of last month s meeting from Olivia to Willmar, a motion by J. Hansen 2nd P. Thomas to approve the February minutes was on vote unanimously adopted. 4. Committee Reports: a. Executive Board did not meet due to inclement weather. The next meeting will be April 7. b. 5 to 25 / 5 Committee shared agency updates, including Harmony Visitation Center s new facility an open house is scheduled for May 20. Renville and Kandiyohi County DFC s are reapplying for five-year grants to continue their drug-free efforts. The RAPAD coalition is assisting the City of Olivia on efforts to enact a no-smoking policy for city parks. The votes for the social emotional contest were reviewed and Laura Betker from RCW was the winner. She will present at a future collaborative meeting. All the ideas submitted will be put on a CD and shared with partner school districts. c. Early Childhood Committee discussed standard agenda items, continued the discussion about the LCTS grants and the Letters of Intent that have been submitted. Rick Loseth from PACT is going to put together information to those who submitted LOI s to help them focus and be collaborative in their applications. Committee also discussed the possibility of writing another Medica grant, perhaps around the 2 nd Step curriculum and increasing the use in our partner school districts. Finally, Wendy Walz shared the news that she will be retiring as of April 1 st, She has been involved with PACT since it began. d. Parent Advisory Committee finalized committee goals, brainstormed ideas for trainings with one possible topic being parental depression and how it relates to children. e. Regional Children s LAC (February report) county updates were shared, committee continued discussion on information to share at county board presentations and a draft informational pamphlet was reviewed for input. 5. ACEs and Resilience Including 2014 SHARE Data SHARE survey results related to ACEs and resilience were shared. School reports are being sent to superintendents of the 18 districts that took the survey; county-wise data will be ready by the PACT annual meeting. 6. Updates A Bush Truancy Innovation meeting will be held next week to share information of the progress to date in each of the five PACT counties in working on responses to truancy/excessive absenteeism. There will be presentations from representatives of each of the county groups, time to discuss between counties and an opportunity for fellowship and networking. One of the goals of the Kandiyohi County truancy group was to apply for a Promise Fellow using the county s allotment of Bush funds. We learned this week that the application has been approved. Nominations for a Fellow are due by the end of April. (see attached) LCTS grant applications are due March 27 by 4:00pm.

2 Nominations are being accepted by this year s Spirit of Collaborative award, given at the annual meeting. Our mission statement says it all Partners working together to strengthen families and support children in achieving their highest potential. While we all know that collaboration is key, we also know that it takes ongoing work and commitment. If you know some person or group who encompasses the spirit of collaboration, fill out a nomination form (attached) and return to PACT by March Other a. Annual Meeting April 8 at The Oaks at Eagle Creek. Invitations will be sent this week. b. No May Collaborative Meeting LCTS grant reviews will be held in May with committee members, so there will be no full collaborative meeting. The next meeting is on June 10 in Willmar. A motion by J. Spend a year as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow Supporting youth at the Willmar Alternative Learning Center The Willmar School District and the Area Learning Center is pleased to announce they have been awarded an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow for the 2015/2016 school year. Promise Fellows build relationships with youth to provide the support they need to graduate from high school and ensure success in school, work and life. The Area Learning Center is partnering with Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services and PACT for Families in this project. The Promise Fellow position is full time, Sept 1- July 31, receives health insurance and a living allowance of approximately $1100/month. In addition, there is an education award of $5,730 upon completion of a year of service and qualified student loan deferment.
