CD White s career began in Exeter and he is very excited to return as our Center Director. He is a Rhode Island native, residing in Coventry with his beautiful wife Liz and daughter Cecelia. Mr. White s career started in Exeter as a Recreation Advisor in At that time he wasn't sure where his career path would take him and he thought his time in recreation would be a job he would hold until he found a job in his field of study, BS-Health Education from Rhode Island College. His career continued at the EX and he was promoted to Senior RA, Dorm Supervisor and Career Counselor. It was at that point that he began to understand the opportunity that Job Corps gave young adults and he wanted to grow professionally within Adams & Associates, Inc. In January of 2013, he transferred to the Grafton JCC where he accepted a promotion to the CPP/Counseling Manager position and in March 2015 he was promoted to the Social Development Director position just two weeks after he was married. He held that title until June 2017 when he was promoted to the Deputy Center Director position, this was just three weeks after his daughter was born. CD White is excited about the opportunity he has been given to lead a wonderful team of staff that understand the importance of guiding our students to success and he looks forward to the great things to come here at Exeter! Congratulations CD White~ RI Hospitality Association Awards Exeter Graduate Shane Cha - Student of the Year Award Shane Cha was recently awarded the Student of the Year Award by the RI Hospitality Education Foundation at a gala event at Rhode Island s Twin Rivers. Center Management was on hand to help celebrate along with Advanced Culinary Arts Chef Mark Bennison. As the foundation wrote: Sometimes, we discover a passion for a career early on in life and Shane Cha is no exception. Shane is a Native American Samoan and he enrolled in 2014 at the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Honolulu. In May of 2016 he transferred to the Exeter Job Corps Academy for the Advanced Culinary Arts program. Shane accepted a leadership role for one of the 2017 Exeter ProStart competition teams. He brought a balance of professionalism and strength to that role that supported his team to the 2017 championship. The team continued to be successful at the NE Regional competition. Shane accepted a paid internship at Russel Morin s catering company and was hired upon his graduation from EJCA. Congratulations to Shane Cha, another Exeter success story.

Their commitment to themselves, and to their future, was evident in their drive to success. Through hard work and focus, these students were able to successfully complete the class, and to ready themselves for the challenges ahead. The proficiency and expertise they gained through resume preparation the assurance and composure they added with interviewing skills and the thorough understanding of job search strategies will continue to contribute to their growth and professional development. Congratulations to these rare jewels. Well done from your friends and family at the X! Dominic Bardouille is a Manufacturing Technology welder. After graduating from EJCA, Dominic s objective is to stay in Rhode Island and obtain a welding position. Anthony Barnes is a Manufacturing Technology welder. After graduating from EJCA, Anthony plans to join his family in Hawaii, and begin his welding career. Antonio Cruz IV is a Security/Protective Services student. After graduating from EJCA, Antonio will return to New York and attend college to study Criminal Justice. William De Rosa is an Advanced Culinary Arts student from Hawaii Job Corps in Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii. After completing EJCA, William plans to stay in Rhode Island to continue his culinary career with Russell Morin s. Makayla Hernandez is a Security/Protective Services student. After graduating from EJCA, Makayla s goal is to enroll in the Community College of Rhode Island for a career in the health field. Ian Jouklaris is a Manufacturing Technology welder. After graduating from EJCA, Ian will return to Massachusetts to start his welding career. Mohammed Mohammud is a Business Technology graduate specializing as an Office Administration Assistant. After completing EJCA, Mohammed s plan is to stay in Rhode Island and attend the Community College of Rhode Island. Dileysha Perez Torres is a Business Technology graduate specializing as an Office Administration Assistant. After graduating from EJCA, Dileysha s goal is to remain in Rhode Island to start her Business career. Check The Record (CTR): St. Nicholas was a Greek bishop who lived in the 4 th century and was famous for his generosity and gift giving. Sinterklaas (Dutch for St. Nicholas) gives gifts on December 5 th and is based on St. Nicholas. Father Christmas dates back to at least the 16 th century and is the personification of Christmas cheer and is widely considered synonymous with the modern Santa Claus.
