1 HR Broadcaster F L A V I U S M A R E K A F E T C O L L E G E Volume 3 Issue 2 OCTOBER 2012 GETTING TO KNOW YOU TSHEPO DANIEL TLHONE Newly appointed Admin Head Tshepo Thabang Daniel Tlhone was born in Phahameng next to Bultfontein on 18 September He completed his matric in Repholositswe Secondary School and later did his N6 in Human Resources Management with Motheo FET (Hillside Campus) in He furthered his studies with Central University of Technology and obtained his Diploma in HRM. He is currently pursuing a B-Tech in HRM with UNISA. In 2004 he was appointed into the public service as a Personnel Officer in the Department of Education - Motheo District. He also worked for the Free State Health Department and the South African Social Security Agency in the HR division. He afterwards joined the FS Education as a Personnel Practitioner: Job Evaluation and Job Description and served for two years. In 2009 he moved over to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development where he worked as the Office Manager at the Lower Court in Edenville for three years. He was appointed by the College as Head of Administration for Sasolburg Campus from 01 June 2012.

2 LERATO TAU GETTING TO KNOW YOU Newly appointed Ms Tau was born in Wesselsbron and she obtain her matric at a Secondary School in the same town. She enrolled at Vuselela FET College in Klerksdorp and completed her studies in June In September 2003 she worked as a volunteer at the department of Justice in Wesselsbron, for a period of 4 months. In 2004 she was appointed as an Intern at Vuselela FET College. During her internship she was a Personal Assistant to the HoD in the Continued Studies Department (Part- Time). Lerato graduated in 2006 obtaining a National Diploma from the North West University (Potchefstroom campus). Vuselela FET College opened a Management Information System division in June 2005 and she was the first person appointed in the division. She worked in MIS until November 2010 and was appointed as the Office Administrator (Admin Manager) at Vuselela FET Jouberton Campus in January On 1 July 2012 Lerato assumed her duties at Flavius Mareka FET College as Chief Examination Officer based at Central Office. Her qualifications also include a Project Management qualification and she attended various short courses including: * Website Developer * Non -Financial Manager Certificate (Accounting & Auditing) * Establishing Organizational Policies Lerato is responsible for managing examinations at Flavius Mareka FET College and she reports to Ms Nkano Mohlaphuli. 3 HR Broadcaster GLORIA NTHOFELA SEFADI Ms Gloria Sefadi is married with two children. She started working at Sasolburg Technical College in 1997 as a receptionist and was later promoted to the post of secretary of the Principal. After the merger, she took up the position of secretary to the Campus Manager and also assisted at reception at the Engineering Campus. In February 2007 she moved to the HRM department in Central Office and was promoted to Senior Personnel Officer (HRM) on 1 July Newly appointed LINDIWE SARAH TSOLO Ms Tsolo was appointed as Senior Accounting Clerk (Creditors) in the Finance division at Central Office, Sasolburg. She assumed duties on 15 August Lindiwe reports to the CFO, Ms Aretha le Roux.

4 NTHABISENG MABEFU HR Broadcaster Ms Nthabiseng Mabefu was born in Kroonstad and she is married with three children. She matriculated in 1992 at Dr Reginald Cingo Secondary School in Kroonstad. There-after she enrolled at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein for a National Diploma in Commercial Education. She also obtained a B-Tech in Business Administration from the Vaal University of Technology majoring in Human Resource Management and Information Systems. OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS: National Certificate Vocational FET Band, Assessor training and Moderator training, OBE training, Facilitator training, Managerial Secretarial Computer Certificate, MS Power point 2007 Certificate Ntabiseng worked as a teacher from 1997 to 2005 and from 2006 to 2009 she was a Lecturer at Sedibeng FET College. In 2009 she was appointed as lecturer at Flavius Mareka. On 1 April 2012 she was promoted to Senior Lecturer: Management, HR and Social Sciences. Ms Mabefu is a National Examiner, Moderator and Chief Marker for the subject Contact Centre Operations Level 4. Page 4

5 Volume 3 Issue 1 JACKIE PILLAY Received from Ms Pillay: I started teaching in 1992, which is 20 years of teaching experience. I taught at a primary school for 8 years and later at a secondary school for 9 years. The experience I gained has been very insightful and rewarding. In 2007, I completed my Honours degree in Education and in 2011 my Masters Degree in Education. I am happily married and I have three children. The love and support of my family has spurred me on to be a better person and has motivated me to take pride in my job as an educator. I accepted the post as lecturer at Flavius Mareka in September My journey and stay at Flavius Mareka is quite enjoyable and a challenge because it is different from the school environment. I thoroughly enjoying working with and teaching the students. I m passionate about education therefore my task as lecturer is very fulfilling. I was recently appointed as Senior lecturer of the Communication department. I m glad to be working with a dedicated and committed team of lecturers. I trust that my expertise and commitment as lecturer would continue to add value to Flavius Mareka. Knowledge is power and Education is the key to Success two famous quotations which I embrace and believe in. Page 5
