2 Full Board Meeting Tuesday, April 21, :30pm Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital & Nursing Facility 1752 Park, York, NY Pre-registered Institutions, Groups and Individuals Henry J Carter welcomed all to the meeting and thanked everyone for visiting the Center Robert Perkins, Harlem Neighborhood Block Association group of community residents living in the area bounded by 126 th St 135 th Streets and 5 th to the East River concerned about the number of treatment facilities located in the northern part of East Harlem. Group is asking for a moratorium of the siting of any additional treatment facilities in this area. Velma Morton, 125 th Street Library announced ongoing programming at the library, including upcoming Summer Reading initiative and toddler time program in weekends. The library is also asking for funds to rehabilitate its 3 rd floor to add new programming space targeted at teens. David Calvert, Youth Action introduced the new Executive director of Youth Action Youth Build, Mr. Robert Taylor. Chelsea Ocon, Mayor s Office to Combat Domestic Violence announced ongoing collaboration with NYCHA to combat recent increase in number of reported domestic violence issues in public housing developments. Dr. Dozene Guishard, Carter Burden Center announced newly opened program operating at the Covello Center, 301 East 99 th Street; organization is looking to partner with local CBO s Hector Gerardo, We Act announced upcoming event on climate change to be held on May 5 th Dr. John Norvell, African American Pinkster Cmte of NY announced series of upcoming events related to the State of the State of Black York Arden Sherman, Hunter Gallery announced new art exhibition at the Hunter Gallery titled Anchor whch will run from March 25 through June 13, 2015 Warren James, resident asked that the Board not approve the corporate change liquor license application of R&J Lounge Corp. based on the community concerns related to a previous establishment operated by the family of the proposed new owner of R&J. Mr. James reported that the previous establishment, Seafood Bar El Chicanito, has numerous quality of life and public safety complaints filed against it in 2012 and Elected Official Reports Councilman Ben Kallos, York City Council- announced his opposition to the Zoning for Quality and Affordability Citywide Text Amendment. Also announced support for Breakfast After the Bell and the Big Swin event at Asphalt Green on April 25 th. William Smith, Assembymember Wright s office- announced that NYCHA was awarded $100 million for capital repairs

Eric Rivera, State Senator Serrano s office- announced Senator s ongoing efforts in relation to the Dream Act Ed Sullivan, Public Advocate s office- announced ongoing support for the IDNYC municipal identification card outreach effort. Nina Saxon, NYC Comptroller s office- announced recently released report on Animal Care & Control, upcoming Shredding Day event on May 11 th Diana Ayala, Speaker s office- reported that winners of this year s PB-NYC process will be announced at Betances Houses in the Bronx, announced upcoming event on Community Preference to be held on May 6 th, announced bike helmet giveaway on May 16 th, and shared recent Health Department press release on synthetic cannabinoids.
