Around 450 people attended the breakfast event on Friday, January 22 at Southern State Community College. This year s headline speaker John Phipps entertained and enlightened our guests as he spoke about the tools we should all be utilizing in our lives. The event also featured Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture David Daniels and the 2015 Ohio State Fair Queen, Sarah Everhart. The event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors and community. 2 2 Hundreds filed in to Southern State s Patriot Center on Friday, January 22 to attend the fourth annual Ag is Everyone s Business. A symphony of voices filled the room as the community conversed, enjoying a hearty breakfast from Ponderosa. SSCC Ag students and FFA students from five local school districts buzzed from table to table, refreshing drinks and taking plates. As the event commenced, we heard from Melissa Elmore, president of the Chamber; Sarah Everhart, 2015 Ohio State Fair Queen; Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture David Daniels; and of course John Phipps. Rick Williams lead a pedal tractor auction which benefited the Highland County 4-H and the Highland County FFA chapters. Five Points Implement Co. donated a John Deere 4020 pedal tractor to benefit the 4-H which was purchased by Nathan Brown. Thompson Funeral Services and Preferred Midwest Title/Davis Law Office donated a John Deere 4020 to benefit the FFA which was purchased by South Central Power and donated back to be auctioned again to Pitzer Trucking. Proceeds from Bane-Welker Equipment s Case IH 340 Magnum also went to the Highland County FFA and was purchased by Charlie Stevens of Stevens Hardware and donated to the McClain FFA. Total, the auction raised $2,500 for the County FFA chapters and $650 for the Highland County 4-H. This event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors, listed on the back cover.

4 4 First Quarter Ribbon Cutting: West Main Family Practice Dr. David Jamieson and Alicia Lindsey, CNP, along with the Highland County Chamber of Commerce celebrated a Ribbon Cutting marking the opening of West Main Family Practice on Tuesday, January 5th. The practice is adjacent to West Main Urgent Care at 225 W Main Street in Hillsboro. Nurse Practitioner Alicia Lindsey is the provider at the new facility. Operating as a family practice, West Main Family Practice operates by appointment as opposed to the Urgent Care s walk-in basis. Since they are partnering facilities, patients can easily be referred between the practices without the hassle of transferring records. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. To make an appointment, call (937)
