3 MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 17, 2018 MEETING In Attendance: Jennifer Johns, Lauri Adams, Joel Heydenburk, Leslie Hunt, Courtney Lewis, Mary Edwards, Angie Gallaway, Beth Lamb, Janeen Lamkin, Chris Packard, Pam Johndroe, Scott McCollum, Julie Pickett, Anthony Defelice, Ryan Haggerty, Kurt Schall, Gaylan Hendricks, David Riley, Mike Hopkins, Arminda Grissett, John Flack, James Hudson and Sarah Sabinsky Joel Heydenburk called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. and expressed what a privilege it has been to him to serve as President. Joel thanked all the board members for all they do. Mary Edwards made a motion to approve the consent agenda circulated to all board members prior to the meeting. Gaylan Hendricks seconded the motion. Motion passed. Jennifer Johns - House Happenings Jennifer thanked everyone for supporting the House and its mission. She shared that the entire staff at RMHFW feels very blessed to have a wonderful Board. Congratulations were extended to Anthony on the birth of his second child! Gifts were given for Anthony s two kids. Received news that RMHFW was left a specific bequest in someone s Last Will & Testament. The House is expecting to receive around $9,000 from the Estate. This Thursday, December 13, is the annual event with the Red Shoe Society Executive Committee at Del Frisco s Grille. Board members are encouraged to attend. The food being served at tonight s Open House is being provided by Del Frisco s Grille. Next year, Gaylan will move into the role of Marketing Chair and Stef Mauler will continue as Development Chair. Scott will continue to lead the House Operations Committee even though he is rolling off the Board. Jennifer Johns Mission Moment Recognition of those members rolling off the Board and gift distribution. Julie Pickett and Arminda Grissett Budget Presentation Discussion of proposed budget. Confirmed that the finance committee had closely reviewed what was being presented and fully endorse the proposal. Gaylan Hendricks made a motion to approve the budget. Courtney seconded the motion. Completion pending parts on order. Renovations of the two new offices in the lobby will be complete mid- February. As of January 2019 RMHFW became a complete tobacco- smoke free property. Just for clarification, we previously had an outside-designated area for smoking that has be eliminated. With our annual donation from La-Z-Boy, we replaced the furniture in our upstairs library. 5

7 MARKETING Roadhouse - Website is almost complete. Should be launched this week. RMHRoadhouse.org Work has begun on the video for Roadhouse. Our subject this year is a former family: The Anderson Family. Abby stayed at the House in the mid 90s and is a charming and fun-spirited young woman. Filming began November 29. 11 CONSENT AGENDA ITEM IV. - COMMITTEE REPORTS - VOLUNTEER Meals: 683 meals were provided in 2018 We have made minor changes to our guidelines We have limited the menu options for lunch Meal groups are now counting the number of people served at each meal Currently we have: 59 house volunteers 21 Ronald McDonald Family room volunteers 38 Student volunteers 2018 Christmas store update: We had an amazing amount of toy donations and gift cards. We offered each family: 4 toys for children 11 and under, 2 gift cards for children 12 and older, a Lego set, 2 adult gifts, a family gift and 2 additional gift cards 30 families shopped in our store 35 families received gift cards 11
