1 45th Annual Membership Meeting and 4th Annual Student Program Speaker Bios Morning Keynote Speaker Abby Hopper, Director, US Dept. of the Interior, BOEM Abigail Ross Hopper became Director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) in January She is the second Director in the history of the Bureau. She served formerly as the Director of the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and has broad experience in the energy sector, including working with a wide variety of stakeholders as well as legal expertise. Hopper led the MEA from 2012, first as Acting Director and then as Director in June She also served concurrently as Energy Advisor to Maryland Gov. Martin O Malley since As MEA Director, Hopper was pivotal in ensuring the passage of the Maryland Offshore Wind Energy Act of She was a lead negotiator representing the State s interests in both the Exelon/Constellation merger and the FirstEnergy/Allegheny Energy merger, securing millions in benefits for Maryland and its citizens. Hopper has also focused significant resources on improving the resiliency of the State s electric utilities in the face of major storms. Hopper previously spent over two years as Deputy General Counsel with the Maryland Public Service Commission, during which she advised commissioners on a broad range of legal matters arising from their duties as utility regulators. Before embarking on a career in public service, Hopper spent nine years in private practice where she specialized in complex merger and investment counseling and corporate law. Hopper graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dartmouth College.

2 Industry Market Outlook Jim Wicklund, Managing Director - Equity Research Credit Suisse Jim Wicklund spent 15 years in the oil and gas industry, working in geophysics and engineering before joining the financial services industry as a research analyst covering the Oilfield Services sector. He has been head of the energy research group at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes Inc., now Royal Bank of Canada, managing director and head of energy research at Banc of America Securities Inc., a portfolio manager at Carlson Capital, an $8 billion hedge fund responsible for all of energy investments, and now the senior Oilfield Services analyst at Credit Suisse. He has been recognized by various awards and recognition including #1 rankings in Institutional Investor, Greenwich Surveys and the Wall Street Journal s Best on the Street and was a frequent contributor to CNBC, CNN and other media outlets. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association, the executive board of the National Ocean Industry Association, the Maguire Institute at SMU Advisory Board, the editorial board of Off-shore Magazine, and the Dallas Petroleum Club. Energy Policy and Politics Bob Moran, Vice President, Govt. & External Affairs, Halliburton Robert J. Moran serves as Vice President of Government & External Affairs for Halliburton. Before joining Halliburton as Director of Government Affairs in 2006, Mr. Moran served as a Washington representative for the American Petroleum Institute (API) from 2001 to 2005 and as the director of Government Affairs for the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) from 1991 to Mr. Moran currently serves as chairman of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association s Government Relations Committee. He is a founding board member of the North American Carbon Capture and Storage Association. Mr. Moran also holds positions on the board of directors for several other important Washington, D.C.-based trade groups including the National Foreign Trade Council, the Coalition for Employment through Exports, and the Business Industry Political Action Committee.

3 Afternoon Keynote Speaker Erik Milito, Director of Upstream & Industry Operations, API Erik Milito is the Director of Upstream and Industry Operations for the American Petroleum Institute (API), which is the national trade association representing more than 500 companies involved in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including exploration production, refining and transportation. Mr. Milito s work covers regulatory and legislative matters related to domestic exploration and production, including access to domestic oil and natural gas resources both onshore and offshore. Prior to his current position, Mr. Milito served as managing counsel covering a host of legal issues, including oil and gas leasing, royalty, environmental, fuels, transportation, safety, and civil justice reform. Prior to joining API, Mr. Milito served for over four years on active duty in the U.S. Army as a judge advocate, and additional four years in the U.S. Army Reserve, resigning at the rank of Major. Mr. Milito was assigned to active duty tours in Hawaii, Korea and Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, and he served as a prosecutor, defense attorney and command advisor. Mr. Milito was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medals during his military tenure. After leaving the Army, Mr. Milito worked as a career attorney with the Solicitor s Office of the U.S. Department of the Interior. While at Interior, Mr. Milito worked on oil and natural gas royalty law, employment law, and disability access issues. Mr. Milito attended the University of Notre Dame on an R.O.T.C. scholarship, and received a bachelor s degree in business administration. Mr. Milito then received his juris doctor from Marquette University Law School, where he was a member of the law review. Advancing Operational Technology...Preserving the Environment (Panel) Isabelle Lambert Isabelle Lambert is a Sciences-Po Paris and MGIMO Moscow graduate in comparative political studies and international relations, Isabelle started her career at TotalFinaElf as an environmental analyst, mainly working on climate change and biodiversity. She later served as Director of Global Capacity Building at the World Environment Center (WEC), a Washington- DC based NGO, fostering green supply chains in emerging countries. Isabelle joined CGG in 2011 as Vice President of Environment and Sustainable Development. Thanks to family and work, Isabelle has been living most of her life abroad in countries blessed by nature such as (former) Yugosla-via, Germany, Russia, Brazil, the United States and Venezuela.

4 Stuart Darling After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2001 with a Mathematics & Physics joint B.Sc. degree Stuart joined ION Concept Systems and worked as offshore acquisition specialist for 5 years, focusing on streamer 4D geometry QC and acquisition. From 2006 Stuart managed the Services group where he played a leading role in the development of ocean current forecasting tools for towed streamer operations which are driven at improving the safety of close pass operations, infill reduction and improved 4D repeatability. Stuart is currently the Vice President of Optimisation Software and Services for ION. The Services group plays an integral role in driving the ongoing development of ION s in-field software products. Stuart has taken active involvement in the delivery of software solutions to ensure safe and efficient operations in environmentally sensitive and congested areas, and would like to see the learnings from this help define new standards for marine operations. Drew St. Peter Drew St. Peter has over 18 years of somewhat diverse experience in marine seismic acquisition ranging from offshore vessel-based technical positions, onshore sales & marketing, and operational management roles at Veritas DGC, CGGVeritas, and currently Polarcus. Joining Polarcus in spring 2009 was to be a turning point in his career where he was able to align his passion for the environment with a likeminded company ethos. Drew is presently chair of the IAGC Environment Committee, holds a BS degree in Professional Geology from Mississippi State University and is a registered Professional Geoscientist.

5 Presentation by CNH Juan Carlos Zepeda, President Commissioner, CNH Juan Carlos Zepeda holds a B.A. in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), a Master s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of the Warwick, and a Master s degree in Economics from the University of Georgetown where he studied for a Ph.D in Economics. Within the Mexican hydrocarbons industry, Juan Carlos has worked for the Ministry of Finance (Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público- SHCP) and the Ministry of Energy (Secretaría de Energía-SENER). designing the Pemex tax system; evaluating and providing follow-up on the Pemex budget and its finances and designing and setting pricing policies in the oil industry. At the Ministry of Energy, he was Head of the E&P Department where he was in charge of technical evaluations of E&P projects. Presentation by SENER Marco Antonio Cota Valdivia, Director General of Exploration & Extraction of Hydrocarbons, SENER Ing. Marco Antonio Cota Valdivia studied a degree in Economics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and an MA in Public Policy and Administration at the University of Manchester in the UK. He has worked both in the Secretariat and Electricity the Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, both in the Department of Energy. He was also Director of Project Evaluation in the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit and Director of Statistics at the National Hydrocarbons Commission. Currently Director General of exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in the energy department.
