2 Tromone #1 Basic Long Tones Warm-up/Daily Routine Long Tones 1, 2, 3,, 5, 6 Focus on a full, even tone and good reath support. Don't rush! #2 Remington Long Tones #,, 1 n, Choose any 1st position note and continue the exercise through that partial , #3 Extended Remington Long Tones,,,,,,, Continue in oth directions as range allos. # Pedal Tones 1 Focus on a slo, ide air stream. #1 Mouthpiece Sirens #2 5 Note Scales #3 Blocked Buzzing Air Y, 2, 3,, 5, 6 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mouthpiece Buzzing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Start on any note in the lo to middle register. The notes aove are just examples. Gliss sloly up an octave and ack don. Repeat 3x total. Move up or don one half step and repeat. Continue to move up y half steps. Start on any note in the lo to middle register. Buzz the fisrt five notes of the major scale. Which scale you start on doesn't matter as long as it is all ithin your range. Repeat 3x total. Move up or don y half steps to the next scale. Completely close the end of your mouthpiece ith your finger or palm so no air can escape. Try to uzz as if you are playing normally. No uzz should e created; hoever, your emochure muscles should engage as if you are playing. Repeat -5x.

4 Breathing Exercises #1 Breathe in and out q=60 In Out In Out In Out In Out V V Note: Make sure to reath in evenly through the different numer of eats. You should not e completely full or empty until you reach the end of each section. #2 Breathe in, hold, and reathe out q=60 In Hold Out In Hold Out Note: The air should e "held" ith your diaphragm, not y closing your mouth or your throat. Keep your mouth open and your throat relaxed. Your stomach muscles should do the ork. #3 Three small reaths In and hold Take a deep relaxed reath and hold the air as descried in the previous exercise. Take three small reaths trying to fill up a little more each time. Relase the air ith a focused emochure. # Stopped reathing Open #5 Targeted air Breath Breath Breath and hold Out Stop air ith finger Blo Take a relxed reath in and lo through a focused emochure. While continuing to lo your air, lock the airay th your finger turned sideays. This should completely lock the airay so no air escapes; hoever, you should still feel the sensation of loing ith your diaphragm. Remove your finger quickly and continue to lo through a focused emochure. Blo Ó U + U + V V + U + U U Place your hand in front of your mouth ith your palm facing toards you. Take a deep, relaxed reath in and lo, targeting the air at your palm. Sloly move your hand aay from your face hile keeping the air focused on your hand. As you move your hand aay from you, you may need to take additional reaths in, or you ill run out of air. Open U +
