1 10 Secrets to Explode Your Physical Product Sales by Sara Young ArticleIncomeBluePrint.com If you are not selling physical products online, you are missing out. There is a lot of money to be made on physical products. The three main reasons you should go for these products are: 1. There is huge number of physical products out there. There are countless of items on Amazon alone. And there are so many other stores online. 2. Most marketers either promote clickbank or CPA products. As a general rule, I've found that ranking a page for a physical product is easier than ranking for a clickbank product. 3. Physical products sell. A lot. Think for yourself, how many physical products have you bought online in the past year. Probably at least a few. How many clickbank products would you buy if you were not into Internet marketing? Probably much less. Maybe none. Some of these products sell for very high prices. And some of these high-priced products are very popular. Some people are afraid to sell physical products because the commission percentage is lower, but I disagree with that. What would you rather get? 50% on a $27 product or 10% on a $400 product? In the past few years I've been making most of my income selling physical products, and I've been pretty successful. I've been able to support my family with a nice income, even though I was busy being a mother of six with 1 child being at home with me all day. So imagine how much money you could make if you have more than just an hour here and there to put into it!
2 In this report I want to share with you some of the principles that I use when promoting physical products. If you implement these principles, you will do really well. You could just blindly promote products by copying the Amazon description, some reviews, and a buy now link. This is what most marketers do. But ifyou really want to make it with physical products you have to do it right. So listen up. This report is not a step by step guide to selling physical products. You will need to combine it with a traffic-getting system, such as Article Income Blueprint. But it contains the information you need to turn any business model from a failure (or minor success) to a huge success. The report contains 10 secrets & 2 extra chapters. 4 Secret #1: Focus is Key If you really want to succeed online selling physical products, you have to focus. Focus on one niche at a time. This niche could be cameras, shoes, ski boots, swimsuits, or any other category of products. Focusing on one niche at a time gives you a chance to know the visitors to your site. If you know your visitors, you will do a much better job selling to them. You will also be able to find other products that they may be interested in and expand that way. So the first thing you need to do is pick a niche. But don't pick any niche try to focus on something that people are fanatic about. People who are fanatic about something will be easier to sell to, and if you keep in touch with them will come back and buy again and again. As with info products and any other type of product, fanatic niches are related to pain or pleasure. Pain related niches are niches in which people buy in order to deal with some kind of pain. For example, weight loss pills, electronic cigarettes that help people stop smoking, and creams that cure acne. Examples of pleasure related niches include hobbies, sports, and designer shoe fanatics (yes they do exist :-). It includes any niche in which people buy in order to increase the pleasure in their life. Both types of niches include people who buy again and again. These are people who always want to buy the latest and greatest products that just came out, and if you get them onto a mailing list they will buy from you again and again. It is much easier to sell to a repeat customer than to get a new one. Here are some examples:
5 Photography people who are into photography are often buying the latest and greatest piece of equipment in order to make their photos come out better. Coin Collectors collectors looking for that one coin missing in their set are often willing to pay a high price for it. Baseball fans you could go for fans of a particular team. Fan items sell really well during the baseball season. Lego fanatics lego fanatics own many sets of lego and are always saving to buy the next one Magicians people who are into magic are always interested in finding new and exciting magic tricks that they can preform. I've found that they often want to imitate a particular famous magician, so you might want to take that into account when promoting products to them. Sometimes you will find fanatic niches in very unlikely places. Check out how many shoes this woman owns (and there a lots like her out there): womans-right-shoes.html Speaking of forums, if you are unsure whether a niche is a fanatic niche, just search for a forum on that niche. Then go read the posts. A forum for fanatics will have many posts each day, and will include posts such as: 'How much money do you spend on X' 'How many X do you have' 'Post photos of your X' with lots of replies under them that will make it obvious that these people are buying a LOT of products.
6 You would be very surprised if I told you what kind of forums I've found these questions in. The shoe forum is just one example.
7 Secret #2: Know your visitors Once you've picked a niche, get to know the customers. Learn to speak their language. Design your site so that it speaks to them. Try to get into their head, and use colors, layouts, and phrases that will speak to them. If you've picked a niche that you are already familiar with, you will have an easier time doing this. That's why I recommend beginning with something that you are already part of. If you are a photographer try selling cameras and other equipment. If you are a fan of a particular baseball team you can start a site for fan products. It's not necessary to already be familiar with your niche but you will have an easier time if you start on familiar grounds. Even if you've picked a market that you know, and especially if you haven't, go to their forums and participate a bit. Feel free to ask questions if you need information about the products or just a better understanding of what they think like and what their values are. One very successful niche that I have entered (that is now my main niche) started out being not successful at all. The first time I set up a test campaign I had 200 visitors and did not even sell one item. Then I researched my niche and rewrote my landing page in their language, and presto suddenly sales started trickling in. Of course I was able to expand it from there, add more landing pages, and sell more products. If you speak the language of your niche, you will be trusted with the information you provide and people will be interested coming back when they want more info.
8 This works really well. Secret #3: Pick the Right Products Go to your niche's forum and find out what they are already buying. Don't just pick any product. And don't just throw together a number of products on your site. Start with one popular product that they are all buying. Then test your landing page. Tweak your landing page's conversion rate and make sure you get things right on this popular product Then it will be easy to expand to others. You will find more information about testing in Secret #9. Using forums to determine what people are buying is much better than going to an online store and checking what the best selling items are. That's because by reading a forum, you are getting to understand THAT niche. Since you understand that particular niche, you will be very successful if you sell whatever is best selling for those people. And whatever is best selling for those people may or may not be exactly what is best selling for the general public. So at this point you will want to concentrate on what they are buying and give it to them. One point to consider in addition to the popularity of the product is the amount of commission that you will get. I like to focus on products that are popular but also give me a decent commission. In general I prefer to concentrate on products that give me at least $25 per sale. But this is not set in stone. Once you understand your niche better and are selling several products, you might come across cheaper products that sell very well. For example, I sell a few products that only give me $10 per sale. However, it is very common for me to sell around 5-10 of them in 1 day, especially if there is a sale going on. So
9 even though the commission is low it is a very good product to promote.
10 Secret #4: Start With the Right Keywords When people buy online, they go through a buying process. First they gather general information. Then they gather more specific information. Then they are ready to buy. I'll give you an example. Let's say I want to buy a digital camera. First I will gather some general information. I might search for 'digital cameras', 'best digital cameras', or 'digital cameras for kids'. At this point I am expecting to get information about the types of cameras that are out there and which type I should go for. At this point in my buying process I am not ready to buy. Then, once I have more information, I might look for more specific information. I will probably know already what kind of camera I want to buy, so I will search for something like 'canon cameras', or 'canon camera reviews'. At this point I am still not ready to buy, but if I see a great review together with a great offer, I might take out my credit card and buy. Then, once I know the exact camera I need, I will go back to Google and type in a buying keyword. For example, I might search for 'canon camera a590' or 'buy canon camera' or 'canon camera sale'. At this point I am sitting at my computer with my credit card in hand, ready to buy! When you start selling a physical product, wheter you are using article marketing, your own SEO'd mini sites, or PPC, first start with buying keywords! These are the best keywords to go for, and they convert the best.
11 Here are some examples of buying keywords to get you started. If you go for these keywords your conversion rate will be very high: buy discount sale coupon code store shop order purchase pre-order in stock free shipping overnight shipping price cost colors (black, white, pink, blue) sizes (medium, small, large, size 10, size 8) model numbers specific model names locations (city or state names) Once you have exhausted all the buying keywords you can think of, start going for the more specific information gatherer. This person is not necessarily ready to buy just yet, so you might need to get them to sign up to a mailing list. Just set up a squeeze page on your site offering them something they may want (for example a comparison between different models or some tips that may help them), and send them regular s with helpful information, discounts, and coupons until they are ready to buy. That way, when they are ready to buy - they will buy from you!
12 Secret #5: Give Them What They Want This may seem pretty obvious, but I see that lots of marketers making mistakes here. Make your articles, ads, and landing pages very relevant to what the potential buyer is looking for. In other words give them exactly what they want. As you probably know already, people surfing online have a very short attention span. You only have a few seconds to catch the visitor's attention, so relevancy is key. So for example, if someone is looking for 'canon camera sale', you want to make sure you give them information about the sale right away. Don't start talking about how great Canon cameras are. If you don't give them what they want right away they will be gone in an instant. So always understand what it is the person is searching for, and give them exactly that. Being extremely relevant will : Increase the CTR on your resource box when doing article marketing. Increase your adwords CTR and lower your actual cost per click Get more people to click on your links in the organic results So whenever you write anything, always try to get into the brain of your potential customer. Try to figure out what they were thinking when they were searching on a particular keyword. When they come to your page or see your ad, they should be thinking to themselves: 'hey, this is exactly what I was looking for!'
13 Sometimes, after you've spent a long time working on something, you just need to walk away for a while and look at it from a fresh perspective. Pretend you are the potential customer and see if what you wrote really does the job.
14 Secret #6: Maximizing Click Throughs to the Merchant Here are 3 ways to make sure your click throughs to the merchant are as high as possible. First, have a big headline that hits the 'hot buttons' of your visitors. By now you should already know what your visitors are after. Is it comfort? Is it health? Is it prestige? Make sure you push these buttons and stress the benefit that is most important to them. Second, make sure your landing pages have a very visible call to action. You should tell your visitors exactly what you want them to do. Don't just assume that they will do it. It is not enough to write in regular font 'click here for the best prices on.' you must have something big and eye catching. And it's not enough to just have a photo of the product with the price next to it. You also want to make sure that you are making it very visible. Here are ways to make it stand out: Use a large font Use red text Add a picture of the product next to the call to action Add the logo of the store you are sending them to Make sure that the call to action is above the fold on the landing page You'd be surprised at how much of a difference a big, visible call to action has on your conversion rate. Third, use some kind of comprison on your landing pages. Either review three stores (or products) and rate them. Or do a price comparison. This kind of comparison works best when one store or product is obviously better than the rest.
15 Secret #7: Get Them Hooked Forever You might want to create a mailing list for buyng customers. For example, instead of displaying coupons and special sales on your site, have them sign up in order to get that information. This might not sound like a good idea, because these people are ready to buy and you are delaying the process by having them sign up to your list first, but it has actually worked really well for me in some cases... The thank you page when they sign up should contain the coupon or special price. Make sure send regular followup messages to let them know of other sales going on. You gain two things here: 1. If someone did not end up buying that day, they will have your s to remind them to buy later 2. You can sell them other products later on This can work really well and increase your profits a lot more than 100%. Not sure if it will work for you? Test it out. You might be surprised.
16 Secret #8: Don't Make This Keyword Research Mistake Make sure you understand keyword research. Doing your keyword research properly is one of the most important aspects of affiliate marketing. Don't get it wrong. I am going to assume that you already know how to do keyword research (anyway, it's beyond the scope of this report). But there is one thing I want to mention. I've seen many videos of people teaching how to do keyword research, and I often see them making one big mistake. When you use the Google Keyword Tool (or any other tool), make sure you check out the results for the exact match as well as broad match. Here's an example: When searching for broad match, you might think that the keyword 'telescope 8 inch' has a very high number of searches. However, check out the exact match:
17 You see, very few people are searching on this term. Someone who just looks at the broad match results will often go for a keyword that nobody is searching for. Then they wonder why they are not getting any visitors.
18 Secret #9: How to Milk Successful Landing Pages for Maximum Profits Once you have a landing page that you think will work, it is time to test it. I like to Test with Adwords. Do this only if you know what you're doing, or else you might end up losing a lot of money. There are lots of PPC courses around. Consider taking one if you very serious about this business. Adwords is the fastest and easiest way to get traffic. Once you know what you are doing, you shoud be able to run a quick test to see if your landing page is converting. If you are not comfortable with adwords, feel free to test with any other means of getting traffic. The only thing is that it will take you much longer. If you are new at internet marketing and you are still figuring out other methods of getting traffic, then definitely forget Adwords. It's not a good idea to try to master several different techniques at once. Once you are getting visitors to your site, see if you are getting sales. If you are don't move on to the next product yet. Milk as much as you can out of this product by ranking for (or bidding on) lots of other buying keywords for this product. Lots of marketers are only earning a small percentage of what they could really get because they don't milk successful landing pages enough.
19 Secret #10: How to turn unsuccessful landing pages around so that they work If you are not getting sales there are a few things you should consider. Are people actually buying this product? You should know from your forum research whether people are buying or not. Check again and make sure that this is something popular that people are buying right now. Is this the right season? Use Google's Insights for Search to verify that this is the right season for this product. One of the physical products I sell, does really bad in December. This came as a surprise to me since I figured people would buy it as gifts, but a quick look at Insights for Search verified thatpeople are just not searching for this product in December. Are you promoting the right store? Go back to the forums and see what stores people are buying from. Figure out what's important to them? Free shipping? Maybe overnight shipping? Maybe they just prefer to buy from certain popular stores. Find that out and promote their store of choice. If you are sure that people are buying, that it is the right season, and that you are promoting the right store, it is likely that you are using the wrong language or not stressing enough the right benefits. Start over, and try to get into your customer's head again.
20 Bonus Secret #11: Go Implement These Secrets Right Now This is the season to sell physical products. Lots of money is already being spent online, and the ones who take action are the ones who will profit the most. Follow the secrets in this guide and you will explode your sales very fast.
