Telephone (01274) or guidance@ bradfordcollege.ac.uk. A drop in service is available throughout the summer. HOW DO I APPLY FOR SUPPORT WITH MY STUDIES? STUDENT CONTRIBUTIONS Students on some* courses may have the opportunity to enhance their learning through the availability of additional resources or activities. The cost of these resources and activities are not funded through tuition fees or any other funding received by the College. The cost, therefore, is generally recovered from students through additional, voluntary or student charges. Financial support may be available from our bursary funds to support students from a low income background experiencing hardship, with these and other essential course costs such as travel and equipment. Students can discuss this with staff prior to, or during enrolment. Details about any costs for equipment, uniforms, DBS checks, trips/visits, ingredients etc. and how to pay will have been discussed during your Welcome Showcase and sent to you with any letters about Taster Sessions, or with your enrolment invite letter. You can talk to our subject specialist teams during enrolment for more information. MY COURSE REQUIRES A UNIFORM If your course requires a uniform, information and ordering details will be available at enrolment, You will be able to view the uniforms, place an order, or ask questions when you meet your subject team. IF YOU ARE 19+ If you are aged 19 or over and enrolling on a Level 3 or 4 course you will either need to pay course fees with the assistance of an Advanced Learner Loan (19+ loan/24+ loan), or via a sponsor/employer or paying the fees yourself. You will need to provide evidence of the above to complete your enrolment and will require payment methods during your enrolment, or information to set-up a payment plan. I AM 19+ AND HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY COURSE FEE? Please contact our FE Registry Team on or enrolment@ bradfordcollege.ac.uk WHAT IF A SPONSOR/ EMPLOYER IS PAYING MY COURSE FEES? If an employer/sponsor is paying some/all your course fees please bring a letter on company headed paper stating the amount to be paid and the address to be invoiced. You will not be able to complete your full enrolment without this.

5 What to expect during enrolment FE ENROLMENT 5 1 Arrival 2 Application & ID Check 3 Information/ Advice & Guidance 4 Skills Check You will be welcomed by our friendly team of Success Makers who will explain the enrolment process and hand you your Enrolment Passport. Your passport is a document that you will need to keep with you as you move through the process and you will collect staff signatures as you complete each step throughout your enrolment journey. Please note that like other public buildings in the UK the College has put additional security in place and we recommend you only bring essential items to your enrolment. The college has adopted a small bag policy and large bags/rucksacks etc. may not be admitted for your safety and the safety of others. Our Admissions & Registry Teams will review your application, check your evidence/id, and talk to you about your application and paperwork and signpost you to the next stage in the process. (If you are 19+ and needing to finance your studies the team will talk to you about your fees, finance options and methods of payment etc.). You will have the opportunity to meet with our Guidance Team and receive careers information and advice and find out more about the range of services available at College. You can also meet with staff from our Student Finance and our Learning and Disability Support Teams to asses any financial or learning support you may be entitled to. If you have not achieved a GCSE grade D (3) or above in maths and/or English, you will be asked to sit a Skills Check, this is an online test to assess your skills. All learners who do not achieve a grade D (3) in maths/english will be required to study these subjects at college, alongside your main study programme. The Skills Check will make sure you study at the right level and pace for you and will help to create an individual timetable for you. Our Skills Check is an online assessment that you will complete at a computer in one of our Testing Bays during your enrolment process. The assessment can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to complete, dependent on your skills and our Success Makers will be on hand to help you through the process. (if you require support to complete the skills check our learning and disablity team will be on hand to discuss your needs). 5 Subject Specialists You will meet with our subject course teams, including tutors, programme leaders, department heads and support staff to answer any course and subject related questions. Our course teams can check that you are enrolling onto the right course at the right level for you and that any support you are entitled to is put in place before your classes start. If your course involves purchasing a uniform or completing a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check etc. your subject specialist team will talk you through the process and may be able to place an order, or start your application at your enrolment. Full details will be provided by your subject team on the day. 6 Enrolment Finally you will be directed to our enrolment hall where our Registry Team will complete their final checks before setting up your learning record, completing your enrolment and producing your Student ID card. You will leave the hall fully enrolled onto your course and be directed to completed a short feedback survey before leaving the campus. You will leave the Advanced Technology Centre as a fully registered Bradford College student (*subject to you bringing the correct evidence, documents/certificates etc.).

6 FE ENROLMENT 6 HOW LONG WILL MY ENROLMENT TAKE? We recommend that you allow at least 2-3 hours to complete your full enrolment. This is to ensure you complete each stage in full and you are enrolled on to the right course and level. At peak times the enrolment process can take a while, which is why we suggest giving yourself plenty of time and making sure you have all of your ID, certificates and evidence with you. Hot and cold drinks will be available during your enrolment and wherever possible we will provide seating for any queues that build up. We ask that you remain patient and our Success Makers will try to ensure that the process is as smooth and quick as possible. (Applicants who have already achieved a Grade D (3) or above in English and maths will not be required to sit the Skills Check therefore the process will be quicker for these applicants). WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND, OR WANT TO WITHDRAW MY APPLICATION? If you change your mind, or want to withdraw or transfer your application please don t worry. Please contact our Admissions Team on or admissions@bradfordcollege. ac.uk if you wish to change/amend or update your course application, or if any of your personal details change. If you want to withdraw your application please contact the team on the number and above so that they can offer your place to another applicant. You can also change/transfer your application to a different level/subject on the day during your enrolment our Admissions and Registry Teams can help with this on the day. Please speak to one of our Success Makers. WILL THERE BE SOMEWHERE TO SIT DURING ENROLMENT? Wherever possible we will provide seating for any queues that build up. We ask that you remain patient and our Success Makers will try to ensure that the process is as smooth and quick as possible. WILL REFRESHMENTS BE AVAILABLE? Hot and cold drinks will be available during your enrolment and wherever possible we will provide seating for any queues that build up. Water fountains are also available for you to use within the campus, so you can top-up water bottles throughout the day. Vending machines are located within the campus for you to purchase snacks and the café in our main David Hockney Building will be open for you to purchase food, alongside the array of local shops and eateries at your disposal. WHAT IF I FORGET SOME OF MY EVIDENCE/ID? We will need to see all of your evidence/id to fully enrol you onto your course. However, if you forget something on the day don t worry. Our team can talk to you about when/how to supply the missing evidence/id and our enrolment team offer a Fast Track for returning enrollers to re-enter enrolment another day to complete your enrolment with your evidence. Your ID/evidence will be checked during 1 and anything missing or incomplete will be spotted at this stage and you will be offered the chance to: return home to collect any documents, arrange for someone to bring you the evidence, or to continue with the process and complete a partial enrolment subject to you returning another day to complete the process via our Fast Track.

7 WHAT IF I WANT TO ENROL ON A COMMUNITY OR ADULT COURSE If you wish to enrol on a Community or Adult Learning Course you may be able to do this by post, or via our walk-in facility.
